9 Principles of Policing

Thus if this is the basis on which modern policing was established upon why are they not followed and if they are how are they being followed? Personally i believe the main problem is the division in police in understanding that they are the public and the public are them. Yet at the same time one wonders whether the police are able to justify increased wage if no crime is visible. How does an officer justify it, considering according to the 9th principle the absence of crime and order means they are doing their job, but the act of them doing their job shows they are not up to par. This although i support heavily hurts the police when economic policy are to take place, considering that when no crimes exist people believe either the cops are not doing their jobs or it is time funding cuts. Another thing of great interest for me personally was this:[i]The degree of co-operation of the public that can be secured diminishes proportionately to the necessity of the use of physical force.[/i] For a some reason it rings quite true and may actually represent the main problem in the US police force within the lower income suburbs in America. This sadly causes the cops to lose the cooperation of the public in turn, as well as the public approval. So anyway how do you view Peeling's 9 Principles of Policing. Are they true and how do you see your community cops or police in relation to these principles. Do they uphold them or do they not?
