Necessary things that you need to keep in your car

I was inspired by cobra to make this thread. I thought it might be nice to make a list of essential things everyone should keep in their car. My suggestion would be a small tool kit. I carry a small socket set and a bag with some tools in my daily at all times. It's something I think everyone should have. Craftsman makes a nice set that can fit under most car seats and isn't too pricey l. Here's the link for one that's similar to mine . m.craftsman.com/craftsman-58pc-universal-max-axess-mechanics-tool-set/p-00935430000P What's your suggestion.

  • I'm actually rather picky about keeping my car as neat as can be, so I really never keep anything in it other than the spare tire and jack it came with. In the winter I may keep a small thermal blanket in the hatch just in case of getting stuck with a dead car, but with all the years and miles I have behind me I can not really say that I have ever needed to keep anything besides; a pen a pocket knife gum an air pressure gauge - all in my arm rest compartment. I know it would be a good idea to keep one of those new quick start chargers, but I keep up with the maintenance of the car enough that I never really run into instances where I'm in need of such a thing. Way back when; Crescent wrench (1 size fits all, 1 tool) A shuriken. Yes, I still have one too, just not in the car. A club Jumper cables Never really needed any of then. But of what I have now, I'd highly recommend the tire (air pressure) gauge. I see so many driving around on under inflated tires. I don't need a gauge to see it, but they do, and should have one in the car as a reminder to check their tires visually at least every couple weeks.
