Car options you don't understand?
What are some car options you just don't get? I don't understand the appeal of sunroofs. If I want a roof open feel ill buy a convertible.

Also automatic windows and doors. Probably worst ideas ever. Anyone who lives in an area with real cold winters knows what I'm talking about.

16 RepliesStart/Stop feature in many new cars mainly Chevys They claim it saves you gas by shutting off your engine anytime you are stopped at a light. eally its just annoying as -blam!- as your car shuts off and on everytime you stop at a light. And the worst part is you cant shut it off Its defintely just a gimmick by car companies to act like they are doing something ecofriendly because it certainly doesnt save gas

1 ReplyI have a 2015 Kia Optima and there is an option to have Eco mode on. It saves gas and all the stuff, but why is there an option to have it turned off? It makes no sense to not have it on

Electronic controls for adjusting your seat, child safety Windows (are children really REALLY so dumb they're throwing themselves out windows?). Im sure there's others but can't think right now. I'm a very simple man when it comes to cars. When I bought my jeep it didn't even have air conditioning for a year in CA. No remote lock/unlock, no electric windows.

Cup holders that can't hold large thermoses. Windows that don't close unless you continue to press the button. Battery beneath the driver's seat (makes more room for engine?). I guess I should say I drive a 2001 Audi A4 Quattro 1.8T. Nearing the end of its life, but I bought it off my dad for cheap and it corners well :>

Heated and cooled cup holders? Colored stitching too I guess... It's not so much the option as how much they cost when they forcefully bundle it with other shit. Adjustable lumbar support in your seats? Well you need to buy the sport brake package for $8,995 to get that.

1 ReplyYou can't very well have a sunroof on many body styles of cars, and verts on work well on a few. So I think they're fine. That said, I'd like the newer retracting glass top, but they're not to common. Now if you're referring to factory options, mine would be the inability to turn off the daytime running lights. I get why they have them, but it should be something you still have control over to turn off if you don't want them on. I have had the Focus for over a year now, and drive so seldom at night that I forget to turn on my headlights because of these things. They're bright enough that you don't think about turning on the regular headlights, making you car visible to other cars via the tail lights. Don't know how many times I've driven with no tail lights on because of this.
