I had to start this after seeing this http://www.bungie.net/en-US/View/community/Forum/Post?id=59767423 thread in the mains. I found a picture online of my first official car, and I have to admit, I'm a little choked up. I loved that car and still have dreams about is and my '86 Mustang GT sometimes. Well, this one wasn't mine, but it is almost exactly the same.
This car is a 1972 Mercury Montego GT. Mine was the same color, and rims, though I had 60's on the back, shag carpet, even in the trunk, 8-track tape player and customized (bastaredized) speakers, 351 windsor 2 barrel and a glass pack muffler. The only difference is, mine was originally an MX. not a GT (a little more elegant rear window line, not the fat fastback look). I was driving to school one morning, hit black ice and ended up wrecking the front end. My Dad found a GT front end for it, and we replaced it and repainted it the same basic green, only metallic. It really rocked back then. I wish I could find it again. I'd restore it, and make it a cruiser/toy.
I miss this car.

I don't have a picture of it, but the one above ought to let you know what I'm on about. 16th birthday, neighbor walks up and hands me the keys to his old car that's been sitting for a few years. Says it's mine. A 1984 Mercury Grand Marquis Colony Park Wagon, in Navy with wood paneling and whitewalls. Thing was awesome. I had to get a new battery, fix it's brakes, most electrics, and she was a great high school car. I loved that thing. We even bought a crash helmet and put it in the car for whoever drove it cause it was so boatish, you felt like you were going to die making a right hand turn at 10 mph. It even had the seats in the rear that came out of the floor and faced each other. It ran well for 3 years, then I went on an LDS mission, and it got neglected at home. When I came home, it was dead and covered in weeds and spiders. Friend was looking for a demolition derby car, so I offered it to him. Felt fitting somehow. He drove that sucker to second place, even after the passenger front wheel came off. Now I drive an Outback. Guess you can still see the love for the wagon.

2010 Toyota Camry...

I never want to know what it's like to sell my car. I came close recently but decided that I would miss it too much. Instead of selling it, I'm going to rebuild it.
-
Dad recently gave me his 2010 Mazda 3, 38 mpg, I can't complain. Although that bike there is my baby, and the first(and only) vehicle in my name. 2002 KTM 125sx, not street legal, total competition machine, that much power(KTMs are essentially built competition ready from the factory) in a bike that weighs that little makes for a total woods weapon. The SX series is motocross, but I'm setting it up for cross country, while keeping the high strung engine characteristics. Essentially, armor it up so it stays in one piece after a crash(you can see the fist sized dent in my exhuast, and my bend rear fender), toss on some race lights, a couple performance upgrades, and I'm ready for what ever a competition can throw at me.

Edited by fanousontheloose: 4/3/2013 6:43:20 AMmy first was a '94 Toyota Previa. Thing had 243,000 miles on it and was going strong. 4-cylinder mid-engine mini-van. However, it was totaled by my bro a year later when it was hit by an 18-wheeler (no injuries to anyone in the accident). Couple months went by and I bought another one which looks like the pic above. the only difference, this newer one is supercharged,

Edited by Kickimanjaro: 2/16/2013 4:47:45 AMI totaled it two weeks ago. Miss that car, collected my stuff from it earlier today and handed it over to the insurance company. Don't tell anyone but I took the Mercury badge from the front grille. In the end, I'm glad no one was hurt, and that my car was basically the only car damaged in the crash. It was not too severe, but it was my first and it somehow destroyed the frame. It could not have come at a worse time, however, as I had just moved out of the dorms to start commuting from home. Now I'm commuting without a car, that's tricky...but insurance is doing what we paid for, and I'll certainly be a more attentive driver in the future. Probably looking to buy a cheap used Corolla, but I'll miss that Mercury.

An early-'90s Chevrolet truck, Z-71. Not mine in the pic but that's pretty much it, except I didn't have those fancy alloy wheels. It also didn't have a muffler (straight-pipe from the cat back to dual outlets), so that was fun. It did alright in the mud, too.

Edited by welderman adam: 2/7/2013 6:32:19 PM1969 Impala. Not my picture, but about the same condition/make and model. It was a tank....I wish I would have kept it, but I was young and no place to store it. It was like two couches in a boat.
-
The only pic I have was after I totalled it. 92 Mustang 5.0 notchback. Super clean and ultra low miles. I was much too young for it.
-
My Pos 94 Celica GT. It has 245k miles on it, and has some weird quarks. Part of me really want's to sell it and try and get something else, but I can't get crap for it, and I'd probably miss it.

I shared this with my brother until he wrecked it. Thing was a friggin tank. That inline six was smooth as silk... - Der

My first actual vehicle was a '90 Chrysler Le Baron Convertible but it didn't last very long.
-
2001 Hyundai Tiburon, much like the one above. Turbocharged it and beat the hell out of it. Still actually have it back home in my Dad's garage, although I may have found a buyer for it recently.
-
2004 Chrysler Crossfire SRT-6. 50K miles on it so far. It was my father's for a few years.

Edited by Butane: 2/6/2013 6:10:56 AMMy first was the car you love. That one isn't actually mine, but is exactly how I got it. Its now getting TLC and a ton of restoration done to it.

1988 Honda Prelude (Manual). That pic isn't of mine, but it's the same. Except my hood was way more faded and chipped. The car was a POS through and through. First day I had it, it suffered engine problems so bad I couldn't even get home from school. Felt like trying to drive a car from a stand still in 5th gear. That took about $700 dollars to fix. Mind you, I'm working at a fast food place during my sophmore year of highschool, and my parents weren't able to spare any money to help out. Finally got it back from the garage, and it lasted about 5 months before the engine blew up. Turns out the garage did something wrong, but we couldn't do anything about it. Sold the car for scraps. Moved on to a '95 Altima (Manual). Had that for almost 2 years then sold it when I joined the military and moved overseas. And then in August 2012 I bought what has been my dream car since I first saw it in 2003. I now drive a black 2008 350z, and I absolutely love it. Obviously I would have loved a 370z, but I'm not quite making that kind of money yet.

1998 Acura Integra. Had about 230k km on it before I decided it had to go. Heavy bastard, and it handled well, although it was -blam!-ing slow lol.
-
1994 Honda Civic
-
'97 Mercedes C280 with bose speakers built in. Damn it is so nice. Love it
-
My phantom was so dark in sleek. The interior was quite dark as well, and it was quite comfy.
-
I like that car, man. 1998 dodge durango.

My first car/truck was bought new with less than 10 miles on it in 1998. It now has about 122k miles on it. It became mine in 2009 when I got my license.
