7 Moments of Triumph remain. Am I still capable?
Greetings, all:
I am relatively new to Destiny, having only started playing around March or so. The nature of my schedule (12 hour shifts alternating days/nights each month) and the sheer number of games in my backlog (probably around 700) means I didn't catch up on Destiny news until a few days ago.
Now that there are around two weeks left, I am wondering: is it even possible for a level 24 strike oriented titan to get the necessary gear and take on the 5 remaining challenges (Bane of Crota, Bane of Atheon, Bane of Skolas, Light of the Reef, Light in the Dark) plus the Crucible & public event challenges (which I can handle on my own)? If there is anyone that would be willing to drag my butt through those challenges, or if it's simply a fools errand at this point, I'd like to know.
I will say that I am seriously motivated (I work well with looming deadlines) and willing to spend much of my days off (3 starting thursday, plus whatever I have between now and the year one mark) in order to complete those challenges if anyone is interested in coaching me through. Thank you all for your time, especially if you've read this far.

Put some time into IB last night, only lvl1 for now, but there you go. Also managed to snag 'the chosen' sniper rifle from an engram. has around 330+ damage, i believe? Don't know how well that helps my chances. Feel free to hit me up on PS4 if any of you want to help this mad quest i'm on. PSN is the same as my screename here. lastly, thank all of you who have posted here for your time and info. I heard about the community around this game but never imagined you'd all be so quick to aid. It means the world, truly.

More time in IB, more public events done, and I scored a piece of legendary armor from an engram so I saved my marks. With armor, should I go for a full set from the same, or can I get different pieces from different sets and still max my level?

Okay guys, after a lot of help on Crota and a lot of time spent on iron banner, I have three moments of triumph left : Bane of Atheon, Bane of Skolas, and Public Servant. I am 140 points from Iron Banner level 5, and 30 public events from completion. I've reached level 33 and have legendaries and exotics out the wazoo. I know I keep saying this, but thank you - THANK YOU all for your help and inspiration to get this done. I never would have thought I could accomplish so much in such a short time.

Well, I did it. With enough dedication, willpower, and a lot of help from my friends (Dioxynl, BigDaddyCurt, PhoneticLand, UNITZERO, and others) I blew threw 17 levels, 35 public events, 70 crucible matches, 3 raids, Lvl35 PoE, 15 golden chests, and numerous story missions from the main game and beyond, in just under two weeks. I couldn't have done it without all without your help, the help of the Destiny community. Now I can breathe a sigh of relief and take things at a more reasonable pace. I'll see you all out on the front lines.

Grind the iron banner for etheric light

4 RepliesI think it's possible. The hardest part will be the public events. [b]Step 1[/b]: Grind your crucible matches out this week in iron banner and that will get you enough marks to get to level 32 by buying the crucible vendor gear, or you can buy iron banner gear. Also, max out an exotic armor piece. Also, try to hit rank 3 in iron banner so you can buy an etheric light. Apply it to whatever you want. [b]Step 2: [/b]Once you're 32, run atheon. Hopefully that'll get you at least 1 elemental primary. [b]Step 3:[/b] run PoE level 32 and get an armor core and buy whatever Variks is selling. Now you'll have a level 42 light exotic and a 42 light legendary piece of armor. That'll get you to level 33. If you got the etheric light from IB, you'll be 33.5. [b]Step 4: [/b]Run crota. Just find a crota checkpoint with some people who are looking for 1 more. Even if you don't have a good rocket or sniper, the team won't notice your lack of contribution. 5 people is more than enough to beat crota anyways. Hopefully you'll get an elemental primary from that. [b]Step 5:[/b] run PoE 34. A lot of teams are ok with a level 33 on their team. You may be carried a bit but that's ok. That'll get you an etheric light, which will bring you to 33.5. If you got the etheric light from IB, you'll be 34. [b]Step 6 (if you don't get the etheric light from IB):[/b] You'll need to wait for the next reset to do another level 34 PoE for etheric light. Applying that to your last armor will get you to 34. While waiting for the next reset, just hit up as many public events as possible. I believe there is a website that directs you to the next public event so you can knock them out. [b]Step 7:[/b] Once you're 34, finish off your triumphs with Skolas. Find an experienced team who is willing to take someone through for their first time. Just ask on the forums for help. Lots of people are more than happy to. If you're on Xbone, I'd be happy to help you myself. I thiiiink that covers it. That'll complete it in a minimum of 1 week and a max of 2 weeks. That's a lot of grinding though.... Good luck friend!

Farlander, look me up and I can take you through crota once you level up a little more. VOG too as all I'm doing now is leveling up a few weapons that got neglected.

1 ReplyAre you on PS4? If so, I'll backpack you through capturing Skolas - light of the reef. Easy peasy, we'll be done with it in like 7 minutes. You can probably get someone via LFG to let you join on Atheon Hard checkpoint now, since you have the ability to be a 31. Destinypublicevents.com for the public events you need, you can run a rotation and have 34 you need in a few hours. Skolas in PoE on the other hand is gonna be the tough part...you're gonna need to get up to at least 33 to even attempt it and you're not likely to find much help til you're a 34.

Try using destiny public events. There's an app as well as a full site. It's not 100% accurate but will help out alot. Usually I can get 3 events within a 20-30 minute window. Those events you need will take the most time. If you keep at iron banner, by the armor and ascend it with the etheric light he sells. That should be enough for vog and crota. Run the 33 and get the armor piece from varicks. Run 34 and ascend your last armor piece and you should be 34 for your fight with skolas. You should have no problem finishing in time.

Once u hit 27 hit me up. Gt is the same as user name. My friends and I will get u through the raids quick fast and in a hurry like. Jus to ur iron banner. And I'd go to lvl 5 unlike a previous post said to do lvl 3. U can get 2 etheric lights that way. And don't spend all week on them do ur public evens first. Wait tell the weekend for iron banner. The xp buffs r real. If u have other characters play them too Sunday and Monday as much as u can. U can max both in those 2 days.

2 RepliesYou got time man, I started in May and I'm only 6 public events away from completing moments of triumph... Post on the recruitment forums. If ur unable to find a full group or waiting on people knock the stuff out that you can do individually. By no means am I a guy that can carry through VoG, Crota, of Skolas but I can hold my own for the most part. I'm on PS4 too, my psn is the same as it is on here, feel free to add me when ur trying to get a group and you need a spot filled.

Got my friend from level 1 to beating Skolas in less than 2 weeks, and to only having 2 moments left (public events and gold chests). It's definitely possible, just gotta get at it!

The only thing that should be a trouble is public events.

You spawn in 'Archers Line' where a public event will take place at some point - when you complete that head right towards 'Anchor of Light' which is the next spawn zone, then another takes place there. Just keep going back and forth. It may take a while but I think it may be the quickest.
