Both being incredible heroes and icons for what they achieved, which of the two went on to have a more tragic life?
The Boss had her child taken away after birth. Having to kill The Sorrow, the father of her child, to make sure the safety of their child. Having participated in nuclear tests and no longer being able to have children. The whole fiasco with the Mercury Project from which she nearly died the CIA managed for her to take the blame and seem nearly a traitor. The final mission to locate the Philosophers Legacy, only to have to sacrifice herself and her honor to complete the mission, death at the hands of her most beloved deciple.
Or Big Boss? Having to kill her mentor and more than that, The Boss. Having to live on with the title of for her assassination. Labled as terrorist in portable ops. Almost being blammed for nuclear disaster and hunted down thanks to Paz. MSF being something simply new to the world, which would cause them to sufer for it. The entire loss of MSF, and his arm. Having to bring himself to do the dirtiest of missions just to exact revenge on Cipher (and whatever else happens in MGS5). Attempting a coup d'etat on Cipher from Outer Heaven, only to be foiled by his son, Solid Snake, from which also would foil his plans at Zanzibarland for a second time, nearly killing him, from which he was kept in a state of limbo thanks to nanomachines and for nearly two decades, not allowed to die simply being the messiah of The Patriots against his will. Only to be released thanks to the actions of Solid Snake and eventually die by FOXDIE next to The Boss' grave, with a son he finally came to terms with and accepted.
Or EE's parrot which had an extremely weird voice and had to deal with hearing EE say Hal all the time, and I love you. Eventually watching her die.
