Fastest way to gain vanguard rank

Hey buddy, the fastest way to get vanguard rank is doing patrols in a fire team of three on earth. One person hangs in the divide, one in the mothyards and one in the skywatch. This method requires mics for good communication of bounty locations, but the idea is everybody grabs bounties prioritising kill a specific enemy, kill mobs, find x item and then the other two. The author of the method says you can gain 500-800 but more reasonably you can get 400-600 unless your team has excellent communication and doesn't get distracted. Also this method offers the opportunity to complete public events for vanguard marks and ascendant shards as well.

Bounties may not be the "Fastest" but I have been playing since Launch and just got Rank 2 last night doing mostly Bounties and just got my 1st Legendary Armor. (I got a lucky Legendary Sniper Rifle Drop from a Crucible match earlier). What I do is I try to "Bundle" my Bounties, meaning I'll grab the "30 Melee Kilss Without Dying", "20 Kills Without taking damage (Sniper Rifle)" and "Complete 6 Patrols on Moon/Venus" Or I'll grab a couple of "Heroic (Hard) Story Mission Bounties" and the "Kill 10 Hive/Fallen/Vex Bounties". I think it's always a good idea to do Patrols while doing Bounties cuz you want to get in on the "Public Events" as well.
