My TTK Summary After Bungie's Stream Yesterday

Here are some of my thoughts and summaries of yesterday’s stream by Bungie… First of all your crucible marks and vanguard marks will be turned into commendations (remember those) on day one of TTK. You will burn these for rep as we did last time. Also, they will be replaced by the new currency of Legendary Marks. You will only be able to hold 200 at a time, they will be shared across all characters, similar to glimmer, but once you spend them, you can go out and earn more. No more waiting for the reset to go earn more marks. Next, if you are a level 34, you will start TTK as a level 34. If you need a boost, or are starting a new character, you will have a spark of light at the postmaster waiting for you to boost you to level 25. Also while chilling at the tower, which looks like it has been streamlined btw, you can select what weapon you want your character to display while running around. Also, there are new dance moves. Yes, get hyped. A few other things, 32 quests can be held in your inventory (and can be turned in at any time within the game) along with a double in vault space. Yes, vault space has been doubled! 72 slots in your vault! Class items, capes, cloaks, etc. all have perks in them now along with your ghost shells. Basically light and level are two separate things now. If you reached a certain level using light in destiny pre TTK, it'll be brought over to the XP level once you get TTK. Your new light is automatically determined by the stuff in your inventory and vault. This is why Bungie recommended waiting to dismantle anything until that has been calculated. All of your attack level on weapons and such has been standardized. I saw a lot of 160 level guns in the stream. I believe the guy sitting on Deej’s right said it is like switching to the metric system. So yeah, there’s that. I think it will make sense once we start to play. The gunsmith will basically let you rent out weapons to try in the field. He will have rep level as well. Rank him up and you can purchase a new foundry weapon on Wednesday. Master Rahool will actually sell legendary engrams for legendary marks for something that will actually be legendary once he decodes said legenday engram. Did I say legendary enough there? Collections will keep track of all your ships, shaders, emblems, exotics etc. You will be able to check out all of this stuff via terminals in the tower. It will show you what you have and will show you what you need to do to get the ones you are missing. You will now have to pledge to a faction instead of wearing an item to gain rep for them. Only downside is once you pledge your allegiance, you cannot switch for a week. For someone like me who hasn’t changed from Dead Orbit in several months, this shouldn’t be a problem, but I’m not that fond of it tbh. Bounties are getting an overhaul, if you complete 5 weekly bounties, you get NF tier rewards. So legendary weapon/engram/chance at an exotic I’m guessing? Ok, exotic blueprints and whatnot. Here’s my take. I’m still a little confused and will have to look into it more, but it looks like you can get year one exotics by using 2500 glimmer and 1 exotic shard. Then if you have the year one exotic already, it will be available for you on the year two tab. Then it looks like to get that one you need 125 legendary marks. The primary exotic perk will be automatically unlocked, and it looks like some of the armor pieces have some stat differences. A quick example I noticed on the stream was the Warlock Light Beyond Nemesis helmet went from a strength roll to a intellect/discipline roll. Also only certain exotics will be available in year two. Good example, no Gjallarhorn or Icebreaker for year two. Yup, so not only did they nerf them, but they will not be able to be taken to year two damage levels. Oh well, let’s hope there will be something better. Same with armor, certain pieces will not be making it to year two. I also noticed that Thorn does not look like it will be available as a year two exotic as well. So, while in regular crucible that won’t really matter, as level advantages are disabled. In Trials and Iron Banner, that will make the Thorn a much weaker option to use. Insert smiley face here. As it stands now, here are a list of exotics that I have put together that will be available for year two: Suros Regime, Hawkmoon, TLW, Monte Carlo, Red Death, Bad JuJu, Invective, Fourth Horseman, Thunderlord, and Truth. There may be more, but that’s what I have now. Infusion is also something that will be interesting. You basically take a weapon with a higher attack value, and infuse it into a weapon that has a lower attack value, to bring the lower weapon up to a higher attack value. So if you have a scout you really like sitting at 250 attack, but you have an auto rifle you don’t really like sitting at 280, you would infuse your AR that is 280 into the scout that is at 250. Your scout will now be around 270 or so. Also, this only works on year two weapons and they must be of the same “slot class”. By that I mean you can only use primary weapons to infuse other primaries. You can’t take a sniper and infuse it into a scout. It also has certain “rules” as well. It can’t be equipped on your character, it must be unlocked, must be same year, same slot, similar quality and can’t be lower than what you are trying to infuse. Oh, and it will also cost 250 glimmer, 10 weapon parts, 1 mote of light and 3 legendary marks to do the infusion. Makes sense yet? Also it can be done with armor as well, same rules listed above apply. Also, yes, swords are coming to Destiny! Rumor is you can get the sword by doing a quest from Eris where you have to find a long lost weapon class. Could be the sword? No talk of year one legendaries so I am assuming Fatebringer is dead. No talk of etheric light, so that may mean PoE is dead. Still a lot of questions, but this is what I took away from it. My final thoughts on this are, think of TTK as Destiny 2. A completely different game than year one Destiny. No Dinklebot, no Gally etc. Forget about year one stuff and accomplishments for the most part. This is a new game and this is what we’ll deal with. As always with Bungie, all of this is subject to change at any time. Anyway, these were just my thoughts from yesterday’s stream. I’m sure I made a few errors, forgot a few things and made some grammar and spelling errors. Oh well, I’m tired haha. I’ll be on in a little if anyone wants to chat and run stuff at the same time.

 • Pretty well summarized, Split and thanks for the effort put into it. Just clarifying, adding a couple things as I understand them. The up to 32 quests part- these are now separate from bounties which got their own bump from 10 spots up to 16. Quests are things like, complete a subclass mission to unlock stormcaller. New Bounties will be out and have been remade a bit too, but will be tough to tell just how much until we get to play. At one point they showed a Vanguard bounty of get 20 solar kills and the guy mentioned that could even be completed with crucible kills (IMO this was a slip, and untrue, but here's Hoping!) You can track up to 4 quests or bounties so that when you bring up your ghost in game, it will show your progress in the HUD. I hadn't though of the stat rolls before on the exotic armor. I wonder if you get one with a strength roll, does it randomly roll the next one? Say, don't touch me's year 1 has 100 STR, you buy it. Hover back over DTM's year 1, will there be a different roll on that one? If it is 100% locked, even some of the year 2 options might be kind of worthless or undesirable.
