Thought we could have one, since more members of MBT are starting to play. You know how these things work.
For those that don't know or are interested, league of legends is a free online game where you fight in arenas on teams, trying to destroy the enemy base. Its that RTS-styled field of view, but your champion has skills. Its not an RPG, its not an RTS. Its fun. leagueoflegends.com

It really doesn't take that much to make a jungling runepage... just need armor and you are pretty much good to go. I use either my tank page or my ADC page depending on the jungler
-
Unlocking champs is fine. I have an issue with spending 5k+ IP per rune page much more than I have paying for champs. There's a reason I don't jungle, and it isn't because I don't want to. It's that I don't want to spend a month of IP to buy a rune page before even being able to buy junglers themselves.

There are some disadvantages and advantages to both systems. I think league of legends emplys their system because of the games learning curve and the difference between the easy, cheap champions, and the hard expensive champions.
-
There are already enough retards playing champs they have no idea how to use. I couldn't imagine how bad it would be if every champ was unlocked. You can keep that in Dota.
Posted by: MBT HawkChampion
Posted by: SmartAlec13 You don't have to pay for those either. I personally like that you have to unlock champions. It gives you something to work for
Yeah.. because _having fun_ is not a valid enough reason to play the game... Or you know, improving your game. This is probably the thing that turns me the most of the game. I just feel so stupidly handicapped and can't play the game like it was meant to be played.
Gotta agree with Hawk on this one, I hate unlocking champions, buying runes, rune pages, etc, etc. Especially at level 30, it puts trying a new champion at a serious disadvantage.

Add me on steam and I'll send you a free invite, I have 3 of them and can get more if needed. =) steam id: rekorderiig Oh, and none of that unlock characters -blam!-, runes, etc etc exist in Dota 2. The only thing that costs is cosmetic items for characters. So don't worry about having to pay to try the full thing. ;) [Edited on 11.22.2012 3:37 AM PST]

I probably have some free trial thingies. Does it cost money?

I'd like to try Dota 2 but I don't really wanna spend money on it.

I don't like LoLs artstyle at all while I really like Dota 2's artstyle. And Dan, I thought cereal was something you ate for breakfast..? I have 3 invites and a second account to give out if you wanna try some time. :P [Edited on 11.21.2012 3:23 AM PST]

Hawk, I am a super cereal gamer. In all fairness, I've never tried Dota, but from the videos I've seen of it, it would make me want to blow my brains out from how bad it looks. LoL is much cleaner looking, and I enjoy it. Suns, bonus points for bringing up David Stern in a LoL thread.
-
Because David Stern is the latest commissioner of the NBA does that make him the creator?
-
He is the latest creator and thus has the biggest claim on the brand. Yeah.. it's pretty amazing I know. I get to sit on my big mighty elitist horse and watch down on you casuals playing in the puddles. :D

IceFrog is not the original developer.

Geez, you guys went a little hard on Hawk. You know he is messing around. I mean, everyone knows Dota sucks and LoL is amazing.
Posted by: Suns1324 Who then stole stuff from the original DotA?
Holy -blam!-. A sequel stole something from the prequel! Color me shocked. Dota 2 is literally just Dota 1 in a better engine. And I don't keep myself up to date with the heroes in LoL Alec. :P I just mentioned it because I felt like toying with you a bit. :(
-
Who gives a -blam!-? Besides, shyvana was made before this new champ so I dont know why you mention it now Hawk :P
