A Dragon's Throne (Fan-fic)

The Throne World built by a certain Ahamkara, a survivor of the Great Hunt that took the shape of humanity to hide. Built over an extensive time after learning Hive secrets, using any power at his disposal. Only when the Ahamkara granted wishes again, not with the Anthem Anatheme but with Universal balance, did this realm truly become beautiful. This realm appears as a natural blue sky over a vibrant world not unlike Earth. Here in this sky a series of flying platforms acts as the Throne of the dragon. The central platform by far the largest and bearing a massive gemstone monolith, reminiscent of tanzanite. Upon this monolith names are engraved, the first of which being that of the Throne's ruler, Avenus. This realm does not abide by Sword logic, not anymore. The laws of this realm are written by the dragon. The monolith is unbreakable so long as the dragon's life persists, and though the dragon may be destroyed its life always returns to the monolith to be reborn. Age alone is the dragon's fated death, now. As it will be for all Ahamakara who's name is engraved in the monolith. The surrounding platforms hold different purposes, some are always present while others manifest and vanish as they are needed. One platform bears an altar surrounded by the remains of Ahamkara lost in the Great Hunt, these bones still speak but Avenus has much to argue with them over these days. The dragon sees the old ways as foolish, the root cause of their slaughter, conversing with these bones reminds him of what he must never be again. The altar itself acts as a forge to create weapons of capabilities unlike that of humanity. Primarily forged of bone, these weapons are engraved with a word and bound to the throne's powers to become something more than they would be. Other weapons could be engraved with a word but the effects would be far more limited this way. The platform closest to that of the monolith's carries a nest where the children of Avenus rest when they tire, as of yet there is only one that needs it. Below most of the rest exists one that bears five objects filled with energies Avenus has gathered over eons, five vessels.
The Vessel of Light: a hive crystal created from a Guardian, stolen by Avenus and purified of elemental alignment. This vessel holds immeasurable Light gathered from Avenus' wish granting. The Vessel of Darkness: An amorphous mass identical to the Black Heart in appearance. Surrounded by a structure of solid Light to keep under control, Darkness is gathered from every entity bearing it that Avenus slays in the mortal realm. This power he utilizes the least, fearing it. The Ascendant Vessel: A structure its own, gathering the ambient energies of the Ascendant Realm presenting a near infinite resource. Avenus utilizes this power as the most general use resource among them all, though the most significant creations are later purged and recreated with other energies barring Darkness. The Ether Vessel: A collection of damaged servitors still managing to create ether, a resource ideal for creating temporary life. Psionic Vessel: An orb upon a pedestal brimming with the psychic powers stolen from psions of the Cabal. This force is used to empower Avenus' living creations for the purposes of battle, being less unpredictable than others and highly versatile.
The final platform that is always present along the rest bears a pool of fluid energies, here Avenus and his living creations make more complex life forms to serve specific purposes, however the soul is beyond the powers of the Throne, thus these creatures are no more self aware than the more "disposable" entities the dragon creates. The Throne itself has been created with many capabilities that can be used by those who's names are engraved upon the monolith.
Most utilized is the Throne's capability of viewing the mortal realm. It allows one to see any location in Sol, the effective range of this sight ends 6 Astronomical Units past Pluto's furthest orbital distance. Those with names on the monolith are able to control ascendant rifts from inside and, to a lesser degree, from outside of the Throne World. When outside the Throne World, one who is bound to its powers can only create rifts near themselves to the Throne itself. From within a being can create rifts connecting to spaces anywhere within Sol and the Throne. Though they must be able to see the spaces in question with the powers of the Throne to create rifts there. A third, very rarely used power of the Throne, allows a wielder to manifest energies from the vessels in the mortal realm. One could empower an individual with these energies or destabilize the energies and send them to a location to destroy. The latter application consumes immense amounts of the energy being used and so Avenus has only ever done this with Ascendant energy, being the only truly limitless resource among the vessels.
The Throne is extensively separated from the Ascendant Realm, becoming more so as Avenus realigns it to powers not of the Deep. Its purpose is to be a haven for his descendants, a place they can be without fearing another slaughter and where he hopes to raise a breed of Ahamkara that overcome their instincts and learn to coexist with other life rather than to manipulate it.

 • The first, semi-sentient, life form born in the pool of the Throne was made with the intent of using the altar. It possesses no proper name, referred to with titles befitting its purpose: Forge master, weapon crafter, bone smith. This humanoid stands at 6 feet in height and possess an all encompassing exoskeleton highly similar to Ahamkara bone, with a large build to give it a dominant presence. The lack of seams in the exoskeleton makes it questionable how it can move, but one can imagine it to be the same reason this being can not leave the Throne World. The forge master is both smith and resource, able to grow parts of its exoskeleton to be broken off and used in the creation of a weapon on the altar. It feels no pain from this, and is incapable of speech or communication. With no soul, this entity exists only to forge.
