The Last Day of Biocatarus-2 (FF)

It remains the last documented moment of Biocataurs-2’s life before he succumbed to the D.E.R affliction. ~raeh em… redaer...wonk taht I ma dna saw syawla ereh… dna taht ym nelots sdrow evah a tsoc...[/i] [b]*************************************************************************************[/b] [b][Access Granted.][/b] [i](The Titan Biocatarus-2 is leaning on a railing, facing the Traveller. There appears to be a small flame that has wrapped itself around his fingers. He is humming quietly to himself, and the fire seemingly bends to his tune.) (The Warlock Apheyra transmats in from her jumpship as it flies past. Biocatarus-2 yells to grab her attention.)[/i] BC-2: “Hey Apheyra! Think I’m finally starting to get the hang of this.” A: “Oh, really? Try to make it bigger, then.” [i](Biocatarus-2 focuses on the fire resting in his hand. It flickers for a moment, and then dies out completely.)[/i] BC-2: “Guess I’ll just have to keep practicing. How’d your visit go?” [i](Apheyra leans on the railing alongside Biocatarus-2.)[/i] A: “Brendal’s doing okay. His cabin got messed up by a thunderstorm, but he’s pulling through.” BC-2: “That’s good to hear. You sure he doesn’t want any help with repairs?” [i](Apheyra nods.) (Biocatarus-2 chuckles.)[/i] BC-2: “That’s Brendal for you.” [i](Apheyra looks at the ruins of the original Tower.)[/i] A: “Remember when you tossed me off the side of that thing? That was rather mean.” BC-2: “Perhaps, but if I’m recalling that day correctly, I only did that [i]after[/i] you claimed I was teaching too slowly.” [i](Apheyra smirks.)[/i] A: “Still, it was a little extreme of you, even back then.” BC-2: “Yeah, but it’s also the truth. Someone has to remember things as the way they were, otherwise we start to forget what…” [i](Biocatarus-2 pauses. Apheyra gives him a look of concern.)[/i] A: “Something wrong?” BC-2: “No, it’s just… I’m going to head out to the Cosmodrome soon. Got a lead that there’s an array tower with important information inside, regarding Clovis Bray.” [i](Apheyra audibly groans.)[/i] A: “You’re still trying to learn about who you were?” BC-2: “Not really. I’m happy with who I am right [b]now[/b], regardless of who I was a couple hundred years ago.” A: “It’s good we’re in agreement then. Besides, the Cosmodrome’s still under quarantine.” BC-2: “Zavala’s authority is overrated. I’ll be back before he notices. Might even try and bring back a souvenir. Would a stolen Fallen Skiff interest you?” A: “All I want is for you to stay safe out there.” BC-2: “I will.” [i](Biocatarus-2 looks into is hand. The flame returns, larger and more vibrant than before. Despite its appearance, it quickly dies out.)[/i] A: “Sure you don’t want me to come along?” BC-2: “No, don’t want to annoy the you-know-what.” A: “You really need to find a way to get rid of it.” [i](Biocatarus-2 winces.)[/i] BC-2: “We’ll see. Anyway, it’s about time I go. My Ghost will stay in touch, so if things do get bad, you’ll be the first person to know.” A: “Expecting me to rescue you, [i]again[/i]?” [i](Biocatarus-2 gives a slight laugh.)[/i] BC-2: “You’d love that wouldn’t you. But I’ll be fine, [i]I promise[/i].” [i](Apheyra and Biocatarus-2 turn towards each other and share a long hug. After a moment, Biocatarus-2 lets go.)[/i] BC-2: “See you soon.” [i](Biocatarus-2 walks towards the hangar. He spots a Hunter, Ceris Vance, and looks at her as he passes by. While his face is not visible in the recording, his body language is of a negative stance. She stares at the ground, avoiding eye contact.) (Apheyra watches Biocatarus-2 leave. She is visibly concerned, yet her face implies that she doesn’t understand why.)[/i] [b]Addendum:[/b] [i]After roughly 2 hours and 37 minutes had passed from his departure, Biocatarus-2’s Ghost sent out a distress signal from deep within the Cosmodrome. Apheyra was the first to respond, and was largely responsible for the recovery of his body. Biocatarus-2’s mind, however, was heavily compromised with symptoms of D.E.R. This resulted in him being unable to provide any details related to his unsanctioned expedition. After 3 full days had passed in this corrupted state, he unexpectedly returned to normalcy for exactly 23 hours. During this brief timeframe, he created multiple notes relating to his life, along with several devices he called “Data Clusters”. Before the Vanguard could apprehend these devices, an unknown individual stole them for reasons unclear. Before this event, Biocatarus-2 had created one final machine, which he called a “Casket”. Once the period of 23 hours had ended, his mind regressed back into its damaged state and he was quickly placed inside the device.
