So, how are you gentlemen finding the update in terms of traffic? Are you up or down after the switch?

Edited by Tom T: 1/31/2013 6:07:10 PMI still think they shipped the new site in a vastly changed state to help fuel feedback, and see what potential features do and do not work when applied to a site of this scale. I trust that the webteam didn't just get carried away with doing change for the sake of change. I am sure many of the issues people have been complaining about, such as post chronology, were identified by the webteam before the new site was deployed. But, in shipping it, they've been able to test the pros and cons of features, and have been offered a multitude of ideas/suggested fixes which will really benefit the design process. They're doing a Beta properly, rather than just really doing it for bug squashing (as was the case with the Halo betas). I'm sure the site will become more refined and rational within the next few months. Whether it will ever be my internet home again, I do not know. It will be an interesting HUB regardless. While waiting for things to settle my time on site, in and outside of groups, is going to be down.

As most others have stated, activity in private groups is down. Although I think the nesting and newest to oldest replies posting may actually work better in the public forum, it's terrible for private groups. I have continued to be active in my groups and give the changes a chance, but I still prefer the b.old post order. It is just so difficult to follow a conversation from start to finish, which is essential for active groups. I hope that as changes continue to be made to b.next, members will return and activity will increase again.
-
Activity has greatly dropped for most of my groups. On the plus side, IRC activity for those groups has gone up.
-
Because its a little strange to use on the iPhone, my activity is down a bit since I don't seem to use my laptop all that much.
-
All of the groups I usually participated in died.
-
Participation is definitely down in my groups. Folks, me included, find it much harder to follow conversations due to the nested replies and post sort.
-
I have no clue why but almost every group I know has decreased activity. Oddly enough, it seemed as though #HaloForum was declining in members prior to the update, and has since nearly doubled its members.
-
About the same. Once Destiny news gets released I'm sure my activity levels will increase.
-
I have dropped my activity dramatically after the update.
-
No polls, my activity has dropped.

Edited by U124926: 1/27/2013 6:18:37 PMI never go to private groups anymore, but that's also because I'm coming to B.net much less after the update.

Edited by Halo53: 1/27/2013 3:33:15 PMInitially, my activity and that of the groups I was in was way up, predictably so. Now as the dust has started to settle, I see myself/my groups returning to normalcy. I've also noticed that I've finally started to automatically replace the word chapters with groups, after all this time. I think the facebookishness of this layout has had a subliminal impact on my vocabulary. -edit- It needs to more obvious when group threads are public. It takes me a while to figure it out, especially in bigger groups with hundreds of members that I don't know.
-
Of the two groups I'm in, the Forum Tryhards and the Halo Group, the Tryhards group was KILLED by the update. Activity slowed to a crawl. The Halo Group stayed about the same (it was dead before, and stayed dead after).
-
I find my activity has dropped, and I think the groups I frequent had a drop in activity too.
-
I'm seem to be up on comparison to the old site. Might be due to Ninja's not looking for stuff quite as often.

Edited by a_dmg04: 1/26/2013 8:11:48 AMDown, though today I'm finding it to be very up. -Notifications keep me coming back to specific threads to reply to repliers. -Followed Users are a weird thing. I used to join groups to interact with said people. Now I can easily find them in the mains and have mini conversations through replies. -Placement of Pinned threads and overall forum setup for private groups make them feel less homey. Lots of old community-esque things seem to have been lost in translation, such as dedicated threads and whatnot. -A few years ago I posted a thread about having sub-forums in private groups. I see that I can easily jump to trending topics using the hashtag system, but it would be nice to sort private group forums by tabs as well. Sorting would be easier.
-
It's slow.
-
I'm roughly the same, to be honest. I got used to the layout, and just keep looking and posting.
-
-
I'm more active all around.
-
My group useage is significantly down, activity on the mains are up a huge amount.
-
Down. Way down. Partially due to .next, partially due to work taking up more of my time. But I've pretty much abandoned the mains, the new subforums might get me back, but I'll have to see.
-
Id say it's gone up.

Edited by Big Black Bear: 1/26/2013 5:02:01 PMMy usage is down lately, but not all of that is due to the changes. That being said, here of some of the reasons the changes have affected my usage: - A lot has changed and I'm still getting my feet wet. Unfortunately, I don't have all day every day to play on here and figure things out like I used to. - With the default ordering such as it is, it's not as easy as it used to be to glance quickly and see what's new since I last logged in. I find myself not bothering and just skimming the highlights. (Maybe that's not a bad thing, though.) - On a related note, it is actually much quicker now to see the highlights. That means I can log in, take a quick look, and log back out again. I'm sure there will be a point where I get back into a rhythm of knowing exactly how to find what I'm looking for and investing time in those discussions.... I'm just not there yet.

Edited by chickenlittle: 1/26/2013 5:30:48 AMMuch less, in every respect. Virtually all my groups are pretty much dead now, with Coup being the only exception. Like Iggy said, a good number of active users abandoned the site over how bad this is so activity is way down. I used to come on here every few hours, make a few posts, rinse and repeat. Now I post maybe 1-5 times a day at most because there is literally no activity anymore. And of course even though they added he public forums back, I still have no incentive to visit them. CE forum is gone , along with the only people I enjoyed posting with outside private groups. Bungie.bad is still bungie.bad.
