Confirmed? No Private Games at Launch?

Somebody posted this over at Reddit, so just thought I'd share with everyone. It seems as though Private Games won't be available at launch. I'm kind of disappointed, but Bungie have said in the past that they're willing to listen to the Community. If the community wanted support for Private games, I'm sure they would definitely try to support that. MLG now have a [url=http://gamebattles.majorleaguegaming.com/news/2373-Destiny-Arena-Launch]Destiny Arena Launch[/url] page here where teams can sign up for Destiny Events. I'd personally love to see the Community support Private Games. Public matches can only test you so much, the games against your friends online are always the ones best fought, and the ones that are most fun.
So my Question is this, do you want private matches in Destiny? And leave a comment why.

I for one dont really care, to a degree. However. I DO want private matches at some point in the future. If u look back to the GDC, shepard spoke about players getting there hands on customizing games etc, and they said its something they are interested in, but it was a long way off. And while this is open speculation, it is interesting. We wont have them at launch, but i would expect them sooner than later.

Private games are very necessary but not at launch. Let the developer focus on the game itself and then they can add it in later when everyone's already played the game.

No private matches means everybody gets rated the same way. This makes things more competitive, not less. Every match counts. The stakes have been raised. Matchmaking will serve its purpose, and players will be squared of against each other reasonably.

3 RepliesDon't care personally but the option should exist for those that do. It's alienating an entire community I believe. More people playing Destiny the better, would like to see this game thrive for a long time and like it or not the PvP community can extend and give life to a franchise past it's relative lifespan. So I say give it to them.

1 ReplyI saw a video where a dev mentioned something about "call outs". I laughed hysterically cuz in the beta I was struggling to give call outs. Unless it was A,B, or C dom. Anyway if there are call outs in the game how can we learn any if we don't have private match?

1 Replyi would have loved it if one could have kept out all other players from their games... well another promise that bungie didnt keep i guess , sicne they promised that everyone can enjoy the game the way they want.. and that they make sure that noone ruins the game experience.. i was loking forwards not to have random noobs running around in my "untouched nature" while i try to sneak and explore the environment ... nothign busts atmosphere more than a bunch of Sparrow hobos passing by... =D
