Hard raid tactics for Aethon fight

So last night i joined a mixed group of Europeans, Americans and Asian to finish of the Aethon fight on hard. They had some interesting tactics which after a few runs work really well. It was a team of 3 30s and 3 29s. Various classes. We had two defender titans (myself and another) with Weapons of light. Hunters and warlocks. The two defender titans made sure they had the weapons of light power and I'll recap the tactics we used. On spawning the group ran to either side of the maps. Each group huddled on a sync plate. When teleport happened the odds were that some of us would be placed in bubbles on the sync plates but this allowed us to bring the gates up faster. While we cleared the bubbles the portal group told us which side. Once the outside team knew which zone we would move to the correct side. The portal team pretty much did as we all do... With one exception. No grenades on mars because if the hobgoblins got hit too early they would pop the shield just as the relic bearer ground smashes them. Venus one person helps with the minataur to drop its shield bar. The oracles tend to be a tad tough unless you are lvl 30 with maxed weapons so if the portal team was made up of more than one 29 the outside team team (with the gate up early) would send another guardian through the gate to help clear the oracles from behind staying on the gate platform. The oracle team clears towards the gate, meets up with the 4th member and the relic holder cleaned the group. The team then heads back through the portal. Once through the group heads to the rear of the map near the door. Defender titans drop the weapon of light shields by the two columns to the left and right of the main door. The relic bearer DOES NOT GO TO MIDDLE PLATFORM but instead puts shield up between the Titan shields infront of the door at the rear. We focus all weapons on Aethon making sure we get tagged by weapons of light buff. The relic bearer keeps an eye out for supplicants moving towards the shield and calls out any threats as a supplicant blast in the shield will wipe the team.. As the count down drops to 3 seconds the groups splits up to clear supplicants for the last few secs before teleportation again. It worked really well last night and I think we should give this a go later tonight on the hard run... Hope it makes sense as I'm rushing this out before I forget and do the school run.

Sounds good. I'm in two minds about what to do in the left (Mars) room about the Hobgoblins. It was always my preference as the Relic carrier to NOT grenade the left room so I could catch all the Hobgoblins in one AoE, or two at the least because, as you say, the Hobgoblins shield blocks the Relic carriers ground slam, but sometimes they spawn facing the party instead of looking away. If they're looking away it's great, as the Relic carrier can run all the way down the steps and do a short jump before the ground slam, killing them all, but if they spawn further away and facing the party, the Relic carrier will get immediately sniped. I think in the end the best tactic is just to do damage to them immediately. If they shield up then the Relic carrier has time to get down the steps and time his ground slam for when their shields come down. I think the ideal subclasses for this fight are still the Sunsinger Warlock, Gunslinger Hunter and Defender Titan, however, if there's a Striker Titan or Voidwalker Warlock, using a super on the enemies in either room wouldn't be a bad thing. Getting out of these rooms alive is critical, so nothing should be spared to achieve that outcome.
