If not 'stories', more like 'categories of story' or 'spheres'
Science: Rasputin, warminds, Vex, Golden Age technology
Spirituality: Dark vs Light, balance, Darkness, Traveler, life and death
Survival: Fallen, Cabal, humanity, war, struggling in the wilderness
I don't like seeing theories like "OMG Rasputin is the Traveler" or "Rasputin is the Darkness", I think they are stupid because I feel they cross into the different spheres of the story.

Edited by Thanatonaut: 10/20/2014 7:20:44 AMThat would fit with the overall significance of the number three, 3 character classes, Human/Awoken/Exo 3 skill types, Titan/Warlock/Hunter 3 ability types, Solar/Void/Arc 3 available factions, FWC/DO/NM 3 major fallen houses, Devils/Winter/Kings 3 Hive cults, Crota/Oryx/Hidden Swarm 3 Cabal tiers, Sand Eaters/Dust Giants/ Blind Legion 3 Vex Minds Protective/Corrective/Prohibition 3 Planets Earth/Venus/Mars Past/Present/Future There are many examples of trinity/triad/Prisms(???) throughout Destiny. There are also foils, such as Fallen/Hive/Cabal/Vex, the Moon, the House of Wolves, "outside of time". These seem almost outside and arbitrary though seemingly hinting to something more. If the 3 rule fits there might be another unseen force besides the Traveler and the Darkness, and an outside foil to these could be something along the lines of the individual Guardian(player). There are many things we are not aware of and we have been given just enough information to speculate with

But those aren't stories, those are themes.

I think Destiny is undergoing some .. Changes. Things are a little fuzzy now and it's trying to figure out just who it is. It might be awkward for a while as it experiments with different "crowds" but I believe Destiny will become a bit more well rounded when it's all said and done. We should try and support it, at least until it starts experimenting with drugs and gerbils.. Then we might need to schedule and intervention.

I definatley see that and its amazing, if only they would put it into the game.

Yes, people often try to tie everything together into one grand theory, but there may be several plot lines at work.
Spirituality: Dark vs Light, balance, Darkness, Traveler, life and death.
I see "Light" and "Dark" not as good or evil, but rather two ways of being, of approaching the universe. Darkness seems to be a purely mechanistic, utilitarian view--only the most ruthless civilizations will survive, so we must be more ruthless than anyone else (Toland's 3 queens card). Light seems to be the opposite--a cooperative view: races should help each other get through this thing, whatever it is.
