I did the raid once, VoG, and it didn't go well. Everyone hated me in there because I hadn't done it and I heard a lot of grumbles, snide comments, and general rudeness towards me. Luckily I knew the leader and he didn't kick me, but I have been nervous to join Raid parties after that. I hear that no one wants to play with someone that's never done it.
Anyone else want to start doing raids? I dont have the Crota update sadly :(
30 Hunter.

Edited by Rose of Thorns: 1/26/2015 8:19:16 PMI had this exact same experience only I was also called a retard. I've only played coop with my husband but he is very busy and doesn't have a lot of time. I'd love to start doing nightfalls and raids. I requested to join this clan. Edited to add system: have more developed characters on PS3/4 (each class at level 31 and better weapons) but also have played quite a bit on Xbox 1. Central time and I'm a night owl.

I'm a level 32 warlock and hunter and I leveled a Titan in few days up to 28 need the purple boots and arms.

I have no problems teaching anyone the ins and outs of both raids. Add mygirlhatesbox if your playing on Xbox one.

Console?

If your on 360, you may want to look up the raid academy. It's specifically designed to help out newer raiders with full tutorial raids. http://www.bungie.net/en/Forum/Post/80376882/0/0

I'd try the raid forums or clan recruitment. Try and hop on with a vanilla Destiny clan or something.

Edited by Aulakauss: 1/14/2015 11:54:28 PMWell, Huntress I'd recommend (very very highly) that you have a microphone you know works before attempting a Raid as your teammates need to communicate with you and you with them. I've run into this far too many times where someone had no mic or I couldn't hear them and they got angry I didn't help them. That aside, if you're on the Xbox One or Xbox 360 and a timezone roughly nearby GMT - 8 (US/Canada Pacific Time), feel free to add me. GamerTag is same as forum name. I have a small clan of friends I'm sure I could grab a couple of to add to the headcount for this, too. I've run people through the Raid a couple times, but it'd be good if we got someone who's done it on Hard at least once. Even if I can't link up with ya to help, I can at least offer the following: - As I said before, cannot recommend a good mic enough. Communication is extraordinarily important on Raids. - Listen to the veteran Raid-runners on your team and take their advice to heart. They've been through the Vault and they now what they're doing. - Expect to sink some not insignificant amounts of time into this endeavor. Plan to burn a few hours on this. - You will die. A lot. For seemingly indecipherable reasons. It's okay, don't let this discourage you! - Bring at least one Void damage weapon if you've got one. You'll need it. - Whatever you do, don't let the Gorgon see you. - Stay around your Shield-Bearer. - If you didn't hate Hobgoblins before, you will after.

Group says it's for all skill levels and I don't think you'll have too hard a time getting the help you need. I'm not very experienced either but have found a lot of support from the members here. The more people you add the better ur chances of someone randomly joining your fireteam. Trick is to just listen to what the experienced players are trying to tell you to get you through. Feel free to add me. Xbox one and 360. Gt same as here.

What system?

Xmas noob

What console? I've taken several friends through their first couple of runs and don't mind explaining everything as I go. It'll get better :)

If you are new to the Vault you are going to have a harder time finding people with an open mind and patience. If you decide to use Destiny LFG you need to be honest about this fact though. While it may take a little longer I really don't doubt that you will find a good group to take you through and explain the mechanics. Also, although you are level 30 I would recommend doing normal mode until you learn the mechanics and get either a Vision or Epilogue and max it out. Hard mode pretty much requires a 300 ATK gun with Oracle Disruptor, anything else means that you are a liability to the team if you get teleported. Preferably I would advise that you find a group through the forums however as LFG is a place for "typical" runs for lack of a better word. I would strongly encourage you to edit your post and add your system though, as is no one knows if they can help you!

Xb1? I usually take noobs on through during the weekend

you need to add time zone and console before anyone can help

Do you play on ps3

Me and a friend took 4 newbies into VoG. We got to the Templar and when we said shoot him now. They carried on either shooting random spawners or looking for heavy weapon ammo....7 attempts before we made our excuses. We were all new to things once but if people just listen...the games not to hard.
