Welcome to Mr. Smiley's Xbox Lounge. Here we reminisce about the days of honey mustard glory and Bungie chapters. We're a bunch of "old" Bungie fans, most of whom have been around since the early Halo days.

Battlefield 4 Beta

Anyone else playing this? Here are my thoughts on both the PC and Xbox versions: PC Wow, for a gray shooter, this game looks pretty! I played it with all settings maxed, and there were very few framerate issues. The dust and particle effects are fantastic, especially after the building comes down. The water looks pretty crappy though, and doesn't react at all to the impact of the building, which is odd because the Xbox water does. I love that you can fully customize every button on the controller. WHY DOESN'T THE XBOX VERSION ALSO HAVE THIS!? Or really, why don't ALL console games have this option?! Xbox Wow, this game sure looks ugly! I'm really hoping the Xbox One version looks comparable to the PC version considering the hardware will be at least close to current-gen PC tech. The biggest difference though, comes from limiting multiplayer to 24 players. The map feels like a ghost town, even with it being cut down to 3 control points instead of 5 in the PC version. Playing with 64 players on PC was absolutely thrilling, with explosions and gunshots going off everywhere. On Xbox, it just isn't nearly as exciting. From what I've heard, the next-gen console versions will not only feature 64 players, but also 60fps, so that's exciting! Also, did I mentioned there are no boats in the Xbox version?! I thought that was part of the fun on this map, but they are apparently PC exclusive?! Odd. Anyways, it's definitely a fun map, and I love the new respawn system that gives you a preview of where you're spawning so you don't do so into the middle of tank fire or something. It's definitely getting me excited for BF4, which is great considering I haven't played 3 for many months now.
