Right now he has Rock Tomb which has saved my ass a fair few times. Aerodactyl already outspeeds most things, and the speed drop from Rock Tomb comes in handy when he faints or I have to switch out.
It's not really strong though, and Rock Slide does more damage with the added flinch bonus.
Which one would you go for?

He's faster than most, which is a bonus for the flimching effect. Rock Slide.

Always Rock Slide.

Wynaut Stone Edge?
Aerodactyl already outspeeds most things
honestly, that's the reason right there you want rock slide. sure the speed reduction is good IF he faints, but only in that situation. Rock Slide's extra damage will ensure he doesnt. personally, I dont like moves that are only good if I have to be in a bad situation for them to be effective, because that means I have to be in a bad situation for them to be effective.

Rock Slide, if you want to lower something's speed get sticky web.

I ran Rock Tomb on my Tyrantrum, but he started outspeeding things I didn't expect him to outspeed, so I taught him Rock Slide Since Aerodactyl is already fast, I would teach him Rock Slide, if you really wanted to, you could teach him Agility or Rock Polish I taught my Tyrantrum Rock Polish just in case

Edited by Orion: 11/25/2013 4:31:06 PMDepends on the general speed of the rest of your team. Rockslide for doubles. But you could run both for singles. And not much is going to outspeed aerodactyl.

Rock Slide. Higher damage + 30% chance to flinch > Lower damage + Speed stat drop

I guess it should come down to what you use him for. If you wanted him as just a place holder to build into a more powerful and slower speed Pokemon then I would keep tomb.
