How Easy Will It Be to Get Loot? This is a question that keeps coming up and instead of having it be a side thought I am going to put some of my thoughts about it. Getting geared is possibly even more unknown than the difficulty of the raids. Yet getting gear is the basis on how hard the raid will be. I am guilty of assuming gear for raids wont be very hard to get and here is my reasoning behind this... We need to think about gear in a few different ways. 1. Blue vs Purple vs Yellow? ----- a. Blue vs Purples... Blue gear gets 3 upgradable stats and Purples get 4 (not sure about the armor difference let me know if you have pictures)... We haven't seen any blue gear with Light so purples may be the only items with light... When you hit 20 you will probably have all blues with 1 or 2 purples that are lower level (so no light right when you hit 20)... -----b. Purples vs Yellow...Using Helms as the example Armor: purples 280 yellow 311... Light: purple 18 yellow 21... Stats: (dis, int, str) most items have 2 of these the difference comes with how stat boost you get purples total around 55-65 total where yellows can have up to 110-120 total... Purples have 4 upgradable stats and Yellows have 5 (5th stat may be an additional perk)... -----c. Yellow vs Yellow... While doing this I was looking closer at yellows and when looking at most helms they had 311 armor and 21 light but the helm from that level 29 titan we have all seen it has 390 armor and 27 light... After noticing this that leads me to think that hardmode bosses may start at level 29 and go to 31-32... 2. Where can you get this gear? -----Blue...Random world drops... Cryptarch...Vendors...Quest rewards -----Purple...Strike and normal raid boss drops?... Cryptarch... Faction Venders, high end quest rewards -----Yellow... Normal Raid boss drops... Using coins to buy from black market vender...after maxing our cryptarch/finishing quest campaign??... -----Best Yellow... Back half of the normal raid and Hardmode only yellows?? 3. How hard is it to get one of each of the colors? -----Blue...Common -----Purple...Rare -----Yellow...Good luck...or about a month if using Coins I know I missed something I had to leave so I wasnt able to finish some of the things I wanted to... let me know what I missed or any additional info that you want to add.

Question that I'm too lazy to find a full thread devoted to incoming. Had it been confirmed that the cap of leveling with light is 30 or are we working on the assumption made based on the video of the level 29 released? Genuinely curious. Haven't been on the forums for a while.

Edited by Dieharderxx: 8/23/2014 3:19:45 PMWatching some of the Bungie employees talk about raids and reading some articles, it sounds like when you start the raid, you will not have the necessary gear to complete it. You will pick up gear as your proceed through the raid. So I don't know if it will have resting points to allow the group time to switch gear or you switch on the fly. From what I have watched on weapons and levels, weapons seem to tie into the characters level. If you face an enemy four levels higher than you, your weapon will be practically useless. So you need to find the gear along the way in the raid to level up your character to the same level as the enemies so your weapon continues to be useful. Per the lead designer, raids are designed so no particularly classes are required, like your example of a Defender Titan. Everyone is needed to be shooting. Any class can go along for the raid. It's all in how you play together. No limits were mentioned on resurrection. Is the idea of limited resurrection something typical that you would find in raid? Bungie really hasn't provided a clue as to how you fail a raid. Only thing I have seen in the game so far is if everyone on a fireteam dies, you start over again. And maybe with the raid difficulties and trying to obtain the necessary gear needed to complete the raid because you won't have the needed gear to start with, that it is quite possible to have all 6 players on a team die, there by forcing you to restart the raid over.

Gear only goes up to 20. Educate yourself amateur

Cool post! You didn't mention much in your post about this but I was wondering why so many people come on these forums spouting info about how they think raids will last anywhere from 10-16 hours. Now some people are just exaggerating but some are serious. I want someone to post links to solid proof that raids in Destiny will take more than 3 hours. Otherwise people need to shut up about it.

I would personally guess that, rather than preventing resurrection, the raid might disable non-res respawning. There might be a limit on reses as well, but removing them seems to emphasize individual skill whereas forcing you to res teammates to get them back in the action pushes the team angle. And I think Bungie would want us to be telling epic stories about how four team members laid down covering fire while the bladedancer tried to reach the defender and get him back up in time to block the dragon's breath attack.

I like that idea. Raids requiring strategy... A one hit kill move from the boss than can only be blocked by the Void Titans Super...
