The Taken King

Update 1 * please note this is from a lore and story point of view, not game features Our first mission is to respond to a Cabal distress signal on Phobos, which we assume is actually a staging ground for an invasion. Upon arrival, we find Cabal fleeing the base. Here we discover the Taken and Oryx's arrival. After our first encounter with the Taken, it is determined that we cannot defeat Oryx without gaining some power ourselves. We will be sent on a mission to look into abilities once used by an earlier generation of guardians. This will serve as the origin for the new subclasses Sunbreaker Titan-Mercury Nightstalker Hunter-Black Garden Stormcaller Warlock-? The Taken are Hive, Cabal, Vex, and Fallen forces corrupted or infected (hence the old name plague of darkness) by pure darkness. *note this supports the theory that the embodiment of the darkness is the Hive, or at least their master(s) Oryx controls the Taken through Hive sorcery. He "abducts" them from our dimension, dominates their mind and fills them with darkness that grants them incredible power. He can then deploy them anywhere in the system at will. The Taken show obvious signs of pain/torture through periodic convulsions of the body. Oryx appears to be a hybrid of a knight and wizard with wings and wields a sword of his own. He was literally born from Darkness and serves as king of the Hive. He is after us to take his revenge for killing his son Crota. Looks like we'll be playing on Phobos, Mercury and maybe the rings of Saturn too, as well as Oryx's dreadnaught and the Black Garden. In one frame it looks like they're fighting in the same place as the final encounter of Crota's End. The narrarator/quest director guy... Maybe Toland? It makes sense he would be the first one to know about Oryx's arrival being the most knowledgeable about the Hive of any guardian ever..
