A Guardian's Tale part 3: the Tower

"Are you sure you can make it run?" I asked "Yeah just give me a sec." Replied Ghost. Ghost flew to the ship and fazed through the ship. "Got it!" Yelled ghost as the ship roared to life, "It should be able to get us to the tower" "Sheekrgul!" A fallen captain shrieked. "Come on. Get in!" I glided up to the ship and we zoomed into the sky. "The tower isn't too far," said Ghost, "you will need to speak with the Speaker." "Who is the Speaker?" I inquired. "Well, the Speaker has a special connection with the Traveler and Ghosts. He helps new guardians discover and improve their abilities and powers. He also can heal the Traveler a little bit." "Oh...hey what is that in the distance?" I asked pointing. "That is the Tower." It was a tall and big. It over looked the city. I looked down and saw the city with the walls round about the city. This is the last safe city on Earth. I looked up and stared at the Traveler. He made his last stand here. Protecting the city from the darkness. As we got closer to the Traveler, I felt stronger and I felt light swell within me. "We are coming in for a landing." Said Ghost. We slowly flew to the landing bay and then hovered to a stop. "Move slowly forward a few yards then land!" A robot yelled as he was hailing us in. Ghost followed the instructions and landed. We both got out of the ship. "Welcome guardian." The robot said. "Thanks." I said. "Come on," Ghost said, "I will take you to the Speaker now." We went up some stairs and into the main area in the Tower. There were so many guardians. Some looked new like me, but others looked older and wiser. I saw some guardians in a corner with books and discussing something. One was sitting on a step sharpening her knife. Another sat on a box staring at me as if he was sizing me up. "We are going to Tower West" Ghost whispered. We headed West. After a minute we headed into a room with these spheres and Ghost flying around. "Hello guardian." Said the man in front of me. He wore white robes and had a mask on. He was tall and lean. "I see we have a new guardian." Said the man as he nodded to me. "Yes. I found him just out side the cosmodrome. We ran into Fallen but he took care of them. He is a Void Walker." "Great." He turned to me "I am the Speaker. I need to tell you some things. This is the traveler." He said pointing, "he came to us long ago. He showed us many great things. He made every planet habitable to us all. Life tripled. Everything was great. But it didn't last long. The Traveler had an enemy. The darkness. The Darkness nearly wiped us all out. The Traveler made his last stand here. We built the city and the Tower here. We are still protected by the Traveler, but he is fading. We need to save him, or we will all become extinct. Guardians are fighting on Earth and beyond. Join us guardian. Burn back the darkness. We need to heal the Traveler to destroy the darkness forever." I processed it all. And I made my decision. "I will fight." I said. "Good. Your training will begin tomorrow. But now get some rest. You will report to me tomorrow. Goodnight guardian." He waved and I waved back. A robot joined us. "I will take you to your new quarters. Follow me." We followed. It was nice outside. The moon shines bright in the sky. 'I could get used to this' I thought. We entered a room. There was a bed, a closet, a storage locker, and a tablet on a desk. "This is it." "Thanks." I said. I laid down on the bed and as soon as I closed my eyes I was asleep.
