Dark Souls 2: Tales from PvP

Just gonna make a nice little home for stories for pvp since we don't have one yet. I'm sure that everybody here who's played dark souls or number 2 has some good stories to tell. So come on over and lets hear your most memorable experiences. I'll start off with my own. So, lately, I've been relatively taken back by pvp. pvp for me is like a big checklist, where if I see somebody using a particular weapon, type of magic, and so on, I instantly switch to what can survive it all. And, it half ass works, because most of the time I get screwed over by phantom netcode, free hitsies, and LOLPOISE. So I've taken up archery, because I don't want ANYTHING to do with close quarters. So, I've taken the liberty of completely de-spawning every single enemy in the iron keep, which means that the castle, IS MINE. I got the good idea the other day, that, it's my world, my rules. So, when I summon someone, I run to the bridge area and pick a sniper spot that the captains usually like to sit on. And, I've got this really good spot, that has two chokepoints. Three if you count the passageway to the smelter demon, but I didn't beat him for this sole purpose. One is a ladder that leads up to the platform. Since you can get stunlocked on ladders, if they climb it, I bring out the Gyrm Hammer. The other is a skinny passageway that leads to another ladder. I hit them with the dragon slayer bow on that passegeway, and if they climb that ladder, they never make it. So it's a good setup. And if somebody every gets close to me, I run. And I dissappear. I make those magic spamming stunlocking -blam!-s work for their kill that's for sure. So far half of the people that come into my world never find me, and kill themselves. The other half usually get killed on ladders or through some trickery of mine. But, a very small percentage of people have been knocked off because they let their guards down. And, last night, I pulled off a godly long shot into someone across the map that knocked them into the lava. It's a good feeling. As my friend puts it, "You're a mean one, Mister Grinch." And, speaking of my friend, I have another tale to tell. He on purposely gets invaded int he undead crypt near the lydia witches for one reason. He's got a save editor, and 99 seeds of a giant. When somebody steps into his world, he rings the bell on purpose and lets the shrekoning commence.

  • I've got a little tale from last night. So, I decided to finally make a mage profile, and, as usual, mages are as douchy and broken as ever. Anywho, I was chucking spells at this one guy, and eventually I ran out between the two of us taking pokes at each other and rolling around. Any by chance, I saw that for some reason I had the crummy little shockwave spell equipped. So I went for broke. And I used it. Crashed into Havel's shield like a freight train, broke his guard in one shot, and I wandered over with my little pissy 2+ dagger that I started out with, and killed him. My sides went somewhere else. All that hassle and dodging and spell flinging, and he gets done in by a ball of blue light.

I'm typing this as this is happening. So I invaded some gankers in Iron Keep as a Arbiter Spirit. But, the host hasn't opened up the main door on the bridge, and I spawned on the other side of it. So these guys have been throwing all they have trying to hit me through this door, because they won't open it as the Dark Spirits they summon to gank will have an escape route. I'm just sitting here, they even summoned and killed a guy while I'm just waiting behind this door.

        >Be me >Dragon broing it up on Iron Keep bridge >Using shitty short sword and no shield because I'm gud >Put down dragon eye >Get summoned immediately >I have a bad feeling about this >Summoned in >See the host >He's rocking full Havel's >Shit >He taunts with Welcome >Let's do this >I dodge like a mother-blam!-er and stab him over and over, killing him with bug bites >Jumps back after I attack >He takes a sippy >Sunny D can't save you >This goes on for 4 minutes >Bastard can't hit me >He turns and runs towards the Bonfire end of the bridge >Ihaveyounow >He goes down the stars opposite the Bonfire >Jumps into the lava and kills himself to escape >My sides transcend time and space.

A day ago, I managed to win fastest legitimate duel. I was doing a BoB duel on the bridge that you can easily roll off. Well, I whipped out my greatbow and two shotted him off the platform and won. This literally took me about 10 seconds in total. Yesterday, I go -blam!-ed over pretty hard at the Iron Keep. A couple times, I got summoned into a ganking world where it was two people trying to beat the living shit of me. I probably could have won, but the one guy I nearly killed ran away and managed to -blam!-ing heal himself. I then ended up in another lobby soon after. This lobby, although I was annoyed at first, was actually pretty funny. There was this guy and a red phantom who really weren't trying to attack me. Instead, they were wearing down my armor with these corrosion urns. I had plenty of souls later I used to repair me stuff, but I have to admit, it was pretty funny.

        • I hate Katanas. So many time I've been 4 shot by a katana, when I have 40 vigor and a full set of fully upgraded medium armor. It just irritates me that such light weapons do such an unholy amount of damage for their class. So I did one battle the guy had a katana buffed with lightning. The guy stuns me and hits me 3 times, taking out 3/4 of my health, then finishes me off with another hit later. That was the straw that broke the camels back. I went out, got the chaos blade and upgraded it fully. My very 1st fight using the Chaos Blade I stunned the guy, and killed him with just 3 hits after I stunned him, he wasn't even able to doing anything before I killed him. I'm very annoyed that such powerful weapons are so common.

I just got a pretty interesting message. I'll set this up first though: So I'm in a fight club and the guy is a cleric Havel, using full Havel armor, Havels shield, sunlight blade and Great magic barrier. I destroyed the guy. The build I'm using doesn't have a shield though, I have high vitality and rely completely on rolling. So the guy sent me this: "rolling is for people who are dumbasses and don't have shields like idiots retard" This was after I completely decimated him by rolling when his only defense was Havels shield. What's even better is how much of a disadvantage shield users are due to how powerful Guard break is, so it's clear rolling is better to use right now. Some people try to always make the person they lost to look bad, but end up looking like an idiot themselves.

          • Nothing too special, but I got invaded today in the Forest in Dark Souls 1. The invader spawned at that point right next to the cliff. Well, I slammed my Dragon King Greataxe, he rolled backwards as expected...right off the cliff. Literally just 5 seconds of being in my world before falling to his death. Hilarious. Speaking of the Dragon King Greataxe, I recently discovered the awesome power of it. For instance, I got invaded alternately and then simultaneously by two different forest hunters. First guy shows up, I kite him a bit, then turn around and run back into him, surprising him. I used my Dragon Torso power to stun him and get that damage bonus, and I brought the axe down upon his head. Poor bastard died instantly. Second guy shows up a couple minutes late, same thing happens. First guy shows up again, this time more cautious, but I mange to get him. Second guy again, same thing. Repeat each about one more time, then finally they both invade me at once. I take my time and try to bait them. Get a hit on the first guy and he loses quite a bit of health. Second guy almost backstabs me, but I manage to avoid it. First guy gets a good hit in and does quite a bit of damage. Well, I finally had them where I wanted them- nice and close together. Use Dragon Torso stone, slam the axe, two dead invaders. Love that thing!

              • The one time I was invaded I got startled and forgot about an undead guy with a spear who knocked me off the bridge. However, I'd like to imagine I'd do this to people.

                • One time a Bell Bro invader was hitting me with his sword while I was down the stairs on the floor below him, that was pretty impressive. Another time I was standing behind a guy and he was hitting and stunlocking me while I was behind him. It sucks I made the perfect Predator character but I can't play it because my shiternet compounds the already annoying latency problems the game has 100 fold, so it is unplayable to me.

I've ran into gank squads so many times in Iron Keep I can recognize a gank a few seconds after I'm summoned. I just switch to the separation crystal after I put my sign down now. So many times I'll be summoned, see the host holding his shield up or having soulmass magic up, I'll look down one of the 2 stairways near the entrance to the castle, if I see someone in the stairways I instantly use the crystal. Spawn and the host is no where to be seen on the bridge and isn't trying to find me? He is going to ambush me with a phantom from behind the 2 pillars on the bridge, I instantly use the crystal. There is so many signs that I have down to a science that 95% of the time I'll use the crystal and 2 props will be running towards me and a phantom will pop out and try to hit me, just for me to disappear. I love wasting their time.

You want to hear a tale from PvP? Well I got one, it is about me fighting a 12 chugging, ganken, havel mage last night. I went to the Iron Keep looking to do some fight clubs. I got into many and wow where the spectators douche bags, every time I get into a good battle someone would launch the host into the lave. But back on topic. I was summoned 5 times in total to the ganker. The first 3 times I managed to escape with the Black Separation Crystal. The fourth time I was none to lucky... but there was a glimmer of hope, they were summoning multiple people to gank. By the time died someone had almost made it to my side. I was summoned a fifth time to him right after that. I hide down by the bonfire, waiting for reinforcements. But they vanquished 2 dark spirits later. I waited till he summoned another person and when he did I came to help. His partner was gone. Maybe timed out or something. The other guy knew I was on his side as he did not target me, this must have happened to him multiple times too. So there we go into a fight. The other guy and I were landing hit after hit, some of them landing on us. Then the ganker fled with us trailing him, he healed, and we got a backstab. this happened another 7 times, YES 7 TIMES! While we were continuing the fight, I accidentally hit my guy, and killed him. So now I was to fight the Havel by myself. The fight continued with him sling magic like apes slinging shit. He used Profound Still 7 times, Affinity 9, Great Resonant Soul 20+, and Great Lightning Spear 5 times; luckily I had a Dark Rebel's Greatshield and could tank all those Hexes without taking damage. He used the rest of his Estus Flask and then proceeded to use 2 Old Radiant Lifegems. While I was out of Great Heals. The fight lasted about 20 minutes. And I would love to say I beat the guy... But I didn't.
