The Sol Divisive, Precursors, and Descendants.

The Vex, A massive network of machines. All controlled by... How many minds? Well we have Atheon who apparently controls a vast number of Precursors, Hezen Protective, and Descendant Vex throughout the Vault of Glass. There is the Black Heart which controls the Hezen Protective, Hezen Corrective, Sol Divisive, and the Virgo Prohibition, as well as the Sol Progeny. Then we have the Aphix Invasive. These Vex, as proven in a previous report, are not controlled by the Black Heart, or Atheon, instead, these Vex have their own mind to control them (mind, in the sense of a leader). The Aphix Invasive serve more of a supportive role in Destiny, however their power is unmatched and unknown. We do know however that the Aphix Invasive have much more power than all the other Vex Programming. For more on the Aphix Invasive, please click the link at the top. Now that we know the large amount of Vex Programming, and the minds that control them. We can move on to another question, which Vex came first? Well the answer to that is simply the Precursor Vex. Have a look at the Grimoire.
Sol Primeval Those who delve deep into the Vault of Glass have seen time itself torn asunder. Awestruck Ghosts report encounters with ancient Vex, their casings built long before the age of humanity. It would be easy to assume these Vex are the ancestors of those we face today - but with the Vex it is never so simple.
I find this Grimoire as cast iron evidence of the Precursor Vex being the first Vex. The Grimoire states that they are "ancient Vex, their castings built long before the age of humanity," This excerpt from the Grimoire tells us that these Vex predate humanity. It also tells us that they are ancient which means "belonging to the distant past." Lets take a look at another excerpt; "It would be easy to assume these Vex are the ancestors of those we face today" This is even more supportive evidence that these Vex existed not only before humanity, but also before any other Vex. We can understand now that these Vex are definitely the first Vex, however they may still retain the old Vex programming, being not only the oldest Vex, but also they are obsolete. Now we can actually enter the Black Garden, which is where we will find our next Vex, The Sol Divisive. These Vex are apparently the guardians of the Black Garden, and subsequently, only exist within it, as far as we know. These Vex apparently are the main Vex. And apparently the Black Heart is like the Vex headquarters. These Vex are "central to Vex actions is the solar system," Knowing this tells us that these Vex are the most important Vex, They also behave religiously and worship the Black Heart, which, in turn, grants them immense power. Like the Aphix Invasive, these Vex are a mystery. While they have great power, they have much lesser numbers, at least to the boundaries of our comprehension, they patrol the entire Black Garden which to our knowledge is perhaps infinite, or very large to some extent. However we only come in contact with these elusive vex in the mission "The Black Garden" and in the strike "The Undying Mind There may be millions more of these Vex, but to us Guardians, we encounter very few. Finally, we can address the Descendant Vex. These Vex are only found in the Vault of Glass, however they have managed to endure past humanity's extinction, and maybe the extinction of other Vex programming, these vex have managed to adapt and survive for much longer than any Vex, or human. The Grimoire states that they "exist in our future"
Sol Imminent Survivors of the Vault of Glass report sightings of ancient Vex - ancient in the sense that they have endured for eons. Convergent analysis from multiple Ghosts suggests that these Vex exist in our future. If the Vex exist in our future - or in a possible future - should we take this as evidence that their defeat is impractical or unattainable? The Guardian Vanguard is quick to point out that time travel remains a mystery, and that the continued existence of the Vex is not remotely a sure indication of humanity's extinction.
What is also strange is that these Vex somehow exist beyond humanity's extinction, but also their continued existence is not an indication of humanity's extinction. Either way, these Vex have existed longer than any other Vex. They may not have existed prior to all Vex, but they have existed longer, meaning that these Vex are so intelligent to the point that they are able to somehow survive for very long. But all of this is on very little known Vex. While we may never know the secrets of the Black Garden, or the Vault of Glass. We can however be sure that this report brings us ever closer to their understanding.
