The Eliksni....

This is Exo warlock Blitz2397. While I continue my search for Toland I cannot help but think of the enemies we face. I have been particularly interested in the Eliksni, or as we know them, the "Fallen". Working with Variks...was not as bad as I initially thought it would be, and so I decided to do some more research into the Eliksni to see if we could find more of Variks' kind. Through scattered Eliksni records, obtained through lost ghosts, I discovered that we may share more with the Eliksni than first thought. The Traveler, our protector and source of our light...worked with the Eliksni before coming to us. In the records I found it seemed that the Fallen also enjoyed a Golden Age, similar to ours, where all houses prospered, ether ran free and there was unity and order. A great tragedy befell the Eliksni however, "The Great Whirlwind" they call it. What this whirlwind is I can only speculate...however, I have a feeling this "whirlwind" was the full force of the Darkness crashing onto the Eliksni. As such many notable houses were lost, among them House Rain, who came up with many prophecies, among them the legend of the Kell of Kells. The Fallen ran, ran from their homeworld and did their best to survive on their own. But without the Traveler's guidance and the order of House Judgement the Eliksni fell to the savagery we know today. While the Fallen ran...they followed the light, followed the Traveler...to our system. Once they discovered "The Great Machine" was with us...they sought to take it back. Prompting the Battle of Six Fronts, the battle of Twilight Gap and the Reef Wars. This is where the story gets interesting. Every Guardian by now would have heard of Variks' betrayal of Skolas...but no one truly knows the motive. I believe that Variks did this...because he cares...about all the Eliksni. By betraying Skolas...he spared further Fallen losses in the Reef Wars. By swearing fealty to Mara Sov he and his Eliksni brothers could live in a world without the infighting and without the savagery. Eventually the Fallen would have integrated into Awoken society and maybe...gained a little grasp of who they once were. I think that was Variks' plan...this plan failed when Skolas broke out however. With Skolas now dead...no one can say what will happen to the remains of the House of Wolves in the Prison of Elders. Although my guess is that Variks will look upon them with pity as they choose to fight against us as gladiators instead of serving like him. It...is a shame that there aren't more of House Judgement Eliksni...it seems like they can be reasoned with and maybe could've become our allies. This doesn't mean that not all Fallen can be reasoned with, although I think this as unlikely. We have taken too much from them for the Eliksni not to hate us by now. Perhaps Variks may convince some...but he is hated as well. Not all Fallen are truly Fallen however, if there are more Fallen like Variks, who remember what the Eliksni used to be then maybe...we could gain a few Fallen allies to help us. I wonder what the Golden Age was like for the Eliksni? Did they birth technological wonders? Were the servitors their versions of ghosts? Did they wield light as we do? Did they fight the Darkness with the same tenacity we do? Would we have suffered their fate if the Faction Wars were not stopped? Was House Judgement their version of the Vanguard? Keeping peace and order? We may never know. Post your theories here Guardians. Anything about Fallen culture/technology, Variks, the Houses standing against us, Skolas and any other thoughts you have on their story.

I've been wondering how Variks lost his arms. In the Grimoire cards I've read, it never mentions when or where it happened, or how he got the mechanical replacements. It seemed strange that it was his upper arms that were removed. A couple cards say dregs that prove themselves are allowed to regrow their limbs (though one grimoire card from the point of view of a dreg says "fabrication" which may or may not be a translation problem). I figured the docking caps they have are being used to suppress regeneration. Taniks would have to be doing something similar voluntarily in order to keep using his mechanical limbs. Variks doesn't seem to be regrowing his arms though, which I first thought maybe he needs more ether (which would also explain dregs being allowed to regrow limbs; they are given more ether), but if this was the case then Taniks would be regrowing his limbs even though he wouldn't want to.

    • If you read the grimoire dealing with Variks and peope conversing with him and especially now the grimoire with Wolves or Mars story it seems like Variks will eventually be Kell of Kells or at least wishes to be.

      • Another thing is that the fallen respect power. We all prpved our power by defeating Draskis the Kell of Winter. Remember the queen killed the kell of wolves and she was tge kell of wolves what if our Guardian is the true Kell of Kells and we shall unite all fallen under the traveller. In the trailer i noticed several fallen ships fighting alongside fhe awoken and humans.

        • It's not impossible that the Fallen could become allies; Using the prophecy to make my point.
"Before him, foes will flee or fall. But he will heal the houses, make them whole." "The Great Machine will marvel, moved by might, and come to crown him Kell of Kells." "What Whirlwind whisked away will be rewrought, and every Kell and Ketch will kneel to the Kell of Kells."
It just states really that there will be a Kell of Kells. But who says that it will be an Eliksni?

          • Good read. Personally though, I think Variks a coward and was only worried about saving his own skin. He seems very persistent in the survival of House of Judgment. When I read through the Eliksni grimoire, I couldn't help but feel for Skolas over Variks. Their perspectives are very different. For example, Skolas makes it sound like they came looking for the Traveler as their final shot at the survival of their race, and they were denied by the City, therefore becoming aggressive towards them. There is certainly enough Traveler to go around, but Humanity aren't going to give that up. Skolas appears to have regret for the way things went during the Reef wars with the in-fighting and appears to want to repair the Fallen society back to what it was without the divided houses. Of course, he still has plenty of hatred for the City and the Queen, the Fallen have suffered massive losses to them. When you think about it, the Fallen are just trying to survive, and their survival is being hoarded by the City and it's undead army, whom don't die. Variks the traitor on the other hand, well, he likely threw Skolas under the bus because Skolas amputated him.

              • Even though I've read about this and heard about what happened to the Eliksni, this was a good little read. I've always been really interested with the "Fallen".
