We cut with relentless fury, and for the glory of our clan. Our goals for ourselves are separate, for some it is achieving a name in the Crucible, for others its the long journey to achieving Light levels. However all of us are bound by one goal, the goal to become the best as we can be as one clan and one name, to show that when we fight against the forces of the Darkness or against other Guardians that we cut them down together for the Order. There are only two rules. 1. Never leave a Blade behind. 2. Assist a fellow Blade if they need the assistance.

Is The Dark Below Worth It?

I was on the internet today and wondering if I should buy the Dark Below DLC. I get that it is $20, I have the money for it, but is it really worth its buck? I looked around on the internet and found this article on reddit.
Destiny's DLC costs to other FPS games on the console. I picked two popular games that sell DLC year in and year out. I didn't specifically address Borderlands since Borderlands far exceeds the "average" expectation for DLC within the FPS genre. I wanted to take a quick bit of time to talk about something that a lot of people are ranting about on a different thread, the "value" of Destiny's DLC. "The Dark Below" (19.99$) - Destiny 3 PVE Story Missions 3 PVP Crucible Maps 1 or 2 PVE Strike Mission(s) 1 PVE Raid Mission Maximum Light Level increased to 32 New Weapons, Armor and Exotics Now, let's compare that to two other big name franchises, Call of Duty and Battlefield 4. These are two games that DLC is frequently purchased for, and yet rarely people think about what they are paying for. "Onslaught" (14.99$) - Call of Duty : Ghosts 4 PVP Multiplayer Maps 1 PVE Extinction Mission New Weapons "Devastation" (14.99$) - Call of Duty : Ghosts 4 PVP Multiplayer Maps 1 PVE Extinction Mission New Weapons "Invasion" (14.99$) - Call of Duty : Ghosts 4 PVP Multiplayer Maps 1 PVE Extinction Mission "China Rising" (14.99$) - Battlefield 4 4 PVP Multiplayer Maps 1 PVP Gametype New Weapons, Vehicles, Assignments "Second Assault" (14.99$) - Battlefield 4 4 PVP Multiplayer Maps 1 PVP Gametype New Weapons, Vehicles, Assignments "Naval Strike" (14.99$) - Battlefield 4 4 PVP Multiplayer Maps 1 PVP Gametype New Weapons, Vehicles, Assignments "Dragon's Teeth" (14.99$) - Battlefield 4 4 PVP Multiplayer Maps 1 PVP Gametype New Weapons, Vehicles, Assignments Notice a trend yet? 14.99$ gets you 4 PVP Multiplayer Maps and also 1 Additional Mode or Gameplay Type. At least, that's been the acceptable trend for many years. Infact, Call of Duty set this standard for a long time and it has pretty much gone without question, that this is the value of a DLC. So, essentially, let's look at it this way, you're getting 5 pieces of "content" for 14.99$. Simply put, about 3$ per new map / mode / gameplay type. Seems somewhat fair, considering everything. Let's go back and look at what Destiny's DLC would cost under that same applied rule, under the most conservative of assumptions, that being : You are an Xbox player... "The Dark Below" (19.99$) - Destiny 3 PVE Story Missions ~ 9$ 3 PVP Crucible Maps ~ 9$ 1 PVE Strike Mission ~ 3$ 1 PVE Raid Mission ~ 3$ Total Estimated Value = 24$ So, are you getting a good deal? I would say yes. Considering that the Raid is something that takes up significantly more development effort than a "Map" or "Mode" we can all agree that we are indeed NOT being ripped off. Infact, by modern videogame standards, you are getting a bit more than you pay for. So, before you all go ranting and raving about how "The Dark Below" is a rip off, set your expectations in line with the industry and check your attitudes. You're getting more than what the industry standard is, and for less.
I guess this person is right when you compare it with other DLCs. Put in the comments what you think!
