One-Shot! (1)

My dive into a new type of writing, hopefully you can still follow through with it. Also, most of these short stories are true. Sometimes.. Also, I will find a way to make it so you guys can differentiate who is talking, between Athena and I. [b]Enjoy.[/b] [u] A Whole New World[/u] "Hey, you doing alright?" She takes the seat across from within the booth. "No." He grabs the mug, taking a sip of the rum. "Are you just going to drink away your sorrows?" She grabs the menu off of the table, examining it. "Yup." He sets the mug down, and taps his fingers against the glass. "Are you just going to answer me in one word?" She looks up from the menu, a perfect eyebrow raised. "Are you ever going to stop asking questions?" He replies, a cocky grin on his face. They share a laugh. The man realizes that this woman has been with him his entire life, guiding him through brutal college classes, acting as someone to lean on when the times get too hard. She has been a pseudo guardian angel for him, and he has done nothing to repay her. Guilt wormed its way into his mood, and it grabbed his happiness by the head, and tore it into shreds. “Kane, I’m gonna get going. I’ll pay the tab. You have a good night, and make sure to get some sleep.” She drops a ten dollar bill on the booth’s table, and walks away. Kane nods, and continues to drink the mind-easing liquid. Athena reminded Kane of his girlfriend, oddly enough. While the two looked nothing alike, they both had a heart of pure gold, both of them were astoundingly beautiful, an- [i]*the image becomes muddled as another voice cuts in*[/i] [b] “Awwwe. [/b] [b] “Stop interrupting the story, you’re such an ass.” [/b] [b] “Yeah, okay. You can continue. [/b] While the two did not resemble one another at all, they both cared about everyone, they were both gorgeous women. [i] *the female voice joins in again*[/i] [b] “Why did you stop there? Weren’t you going to say something else? [/b] [b] “Nope, not anymore. [/b] [b] "I.. What was it going to be?"[/b] [b] "Nothing. I'm going to continue now. [/b] Kane finished the rest of his rum, taking in the liquid on slowly, but surely. He left the booth, and worked his way towards the entrance of the diner. Kane pushed open the door, and a bell rang above him. "What th-" He was interrupted. "Mistletoe. Gotcha." Kane opened his eyes, and saw Athena. Her green eyes devoured what ever resistance he had left within him, those swirling pools of joy, of kindness. The duet's lips met. And for a moment.. Kane forgot about his girlfriend.. The one who left him in the dust. The one who threw his love against a wall and left it there to rot. The two kissed, she wrapped her arms around his shoulders. And he wrapped his arms around her waist. Unbelievable bliss encompassed the two in a hurricane of unbridled love. [i] *the female voice severs the immersion of the story* [/i] [b] "Okay, okay. It wasn't that good." [/b] [b] "Felt that way to me, Athena." [/b] [b] "Shut up." [/b] [i] Present Time [/i] Kane: "Soooo yeah. Hope you guys enjoyed. And hopefully Athena will stop interrupting next time." Athena: "Hahaha. That will never happen." Kane: "I know, but one can hope so." Athena: "Yeah... I'm Athena!" Kane: "I'm Kane." [i] *in sync* [/i] Both: "See you in the next One-Shot!" [i] *in the back of the set* [/i] Athena: "A WHOLE NEW WORLD!" Kane: "SHINING, SHIMMERING, SPLENDID!" Athena: "I still cannot believe you called it that." Kane: "Whatever."
