Luke Smith: There is no way right now for you to get the new dance emotes without doing that. Those are Collector's Edition exclusive. We've set some stuff aside for that edition specifically to really make it appeal to fans who have engaged with the game already and also to people that will enter the game this autumn.[/spoiler]
TL;DR Bungie has just openly admitted that they bundled emotes into the collectors edition on purpose to force existing customers REBUY DESTINY AND CONTENT THEY ALREADY OWN.

Truly absurd. The interviewed "Luke" basically didn't answer any of the questions but instead gave the same answer over and over again. It truly makes no comprehensible sense to re-purchase a game with all DLC just to add "extra content" to our destiny lives. If that is the case, then what should have been done was to pursue content and price reductions for those who already have the game and DLC that also includes the extra in-game exclusive content. What they're doing is cheating people out of money and expecting us to bow down and suck out the lint between their toes. Truly absurd..

1 Replyyeah, just recently read it on the reddit forums before coming here. well, i'm definitely holding off on that dlc purchase for a while (i do want to continue and feel that this justified fan wave of rage will make bungie better hopefully in time) gonna play the game less too, to see if the decrease in player base activity (as others will probably do so after that interview) will send a message, but will definitely be on for an hour, usually sometime past midnight est.
