Absinthe. We got a 3 month posting in Cyprus. My mothers side of the family is from Cyprus, the posting is pretty much a free holiday so I go to visit some family with a couple of the lads. My cousin pulls out absinthe and we have a few drinks. I have no idea how it got it's reputation, I feel fine. Step outside in the fresh air..... Hit the floor and spend the next 4 hours crawling back to barracks in what should have been a 40 minute walk. Wake up the next day with the mother of all hangovers and swear never to drink again.
