A small village, called Sanctuary, sits in the crook of a valley. A few places to eat, a few shops, and a handful of houses. And not much more besides a small tavern to lend a bed and cold beverage. No crowns to bow to. And no currency holds value. Trading is your only currency.
Rising swiftly to its west are 3 ranges of mountains hiding many caves and mysteries. First Range is home to most normal animals and a few nomadic herders. Higher up and deep into Second Range is where most predatory beast dwell. Trolls, golems, and even a griffin, if you are unlucky enough, can be found. The Third Range is the dragons domain. They rule as a small society. Past Third Range the mountains show its sheer face to the ocean.
Follow their jagged coast southerly and they will eventually soften to a sandy beach perfect for sunsets and relaxing.
But inland from the beach, and south of the village, is far from enjoyable. The Twisted swamp homes harsh bog witches, ancient serpents. Dense toxic fog and strong alchemic plants can also be found.
If you are in pursuit of something more serene travel north off into Wild Planes, where there are sparse homes and not much more than the wide open sky. But beware at night , packs of dogs and rolling bands of bandits terrorize the the scattered farms and the few scattered settlements.
And to the east the the wild rules in the Elder Woods. Sprites and nymphs constantly zip around. Travelers shall be weary of the 'jokes' they play. Elves reside in a hidden stronghold at the heart of the woods. The few who know how to follow the creek fro. The mountains to lake in the woods will be questioned by the chief elven mystic before they are allowed to enter the enclave.
In the center of the village there is a strange ring of blue light on the ground that is pointed at the sky. A solid metal base emitting a low hum has impacted deep into the earth when it fell from the above. No one has yet tried to enter. Locals have thrown fruit in just to see it shot straight into the sky and never come back down.

*I arrive into town alone. Rumors of these mystical parts had been spread to all the surrounding areas. Seeing if they were true I started my journey with only a pack, a hunting knife and a bow. *

*A man strolls into town upon a fine mare, his cat-like eyes and menacing demeanor drawing ire from many a townsfolk* *Fortunately, he has grown accustomed to these reactions, and merely passed by them, ignoring their snarls and hush whispers* *He arrives at the Inn, leaves his horse outside, and enters the establishment* *Eying the innkeeper, he jaunts over to the counter, and takes a sit*
For Corvus, figs. t

(Luv u guise)
*Fire rains from the sky above the mountains, the burning pod going to fast for it's own good. The air brakes failing to deploy. * *It's righteous fury plummets into the snow capped mountain tops, bouncing off and rebounding into a dark crevice. Wedged in a small ravine.* *The snow rumbles from above and a mighty avalanche buries the pod not allowing the occupant to escape.* *His distress beacon activates*

Edited by Kinda Red: 7/30/2015 8:30:00 PMAn odd looking girl wanders into town, her simple bow kept close to her side as if paranoid of thievery or such. She's adorned with leather armor, form fitting but strong, a simple hood over her head. She takes it down as she enters, likely to better keep her ears open. Her face is soft, clean, her ears pointed like an elf's, her hair a dark shade of blue, almost metallic in the right light. Her eyes a shade much like her hair, looking to and fro at passing strangers. She keeps to herself as she wanders into the tavern and sits down in a booth.
typos... Autocorrect screwed me up...
