Level 27 titan Struggling to level up on xbox one

i've been doing seemingly millions of strikes trying to get legendary gear but luck has not been on my side i've only gotten legendary boots and weapons. I've been recently attempting to do raids so if anyone is experienced in raiding and could help me, it would be greatly appreciated. Also i have a checkpoint at the summoning atheon point for vault of glass if anyone feels like helping me complete that raid or just feels like getting some raid rewards please message me
