EER's Helpful Advice #3

Alright, so today I'm covering the Trials of Osiris. Everyone should have the Trials Passage located in their inventory right under the Missions section. You'll see nine faded yellow lights and three faded red lights. Friday-Tuesday you can use this ticket to get into the Crucible game type Trials of Osiris. This is a 3v3 elimination team deathmatch game type that takes place only on Mercury where if a member of your team dies then you can revive them. You lose the round if all three members are eliminated. There are 5 rounds, of which, heavy ammo will spawn on the 4th round. Winning 5 rounds will earn you a victory and a yellow light on your Trials Passage. This is game type where level advantages are enabled. A lot of people get confused on that part, well, let me explain it. A good example of a level advantage will be for the Crota's End raid when you're using the sword from the Swordbreaker to make Crota your sex slave. Given a Hunter flails at the abominable flashlight called Crota, a level 32 Hunter with the Bladedancer subclass can take down faster than a level 31 Hunter given the same stats. Melee damage just becomes better as your level increases. This is only one example of level advantages in the Crucible. For those who are unaware of the normal game types in the Crucible, level advantages do not carry over. The weapons you use in the Crucible when the advantages are disabled do not have the base weapon damage enabled. This means the weapon you use in the Crucible, no matter if it's damage is 365/365 will always deal damage from it's starting marker(Ex: 1/5 you'll only deal 1 damage and even if you increase your damage to 5/5 it'll still do 1 damage since 1 was it's base). The only thing that carries into the Crucible when advantages are off are your weapon's abilities and bar stats. However, obtaining a weapon where the base damage is already maxed(Osiris weapons) will have the base damage of 365 since 365 is the starting stats. Still confused? Here's a list: When level advantages are disabled - Base melee damage is the amount of damage your melee did when you were level 1, not 32+. - Weapons only account for their abilities and the bar stats. - Armor only accounts for their abilities - Subclasses only account for their abilities along with only Recovery and Agility. When level advantages are enabled - Melee damage is at it's highest damage point depending on your current level. - Weapons deal it's maximum damage along with their abilities and the bonuses. - Armor accounts for it's defensive stats. - Armor on your subasses is enabled. *Note: Reforging your best Legendary weapons is highly recommended. Experiment until you've created your dream weapon that you can treat as your best bro. In the Vestian Outpost located in the Reef you'll find the Disciple of Osiris which will have items available for those who have won enough games. Winning 8/9 games in the Trails of Osiris will grant you enough wins to buy everything that pendejo owns. However there is a secret bonus when you have 9 wins and no loses. When you have 9/9 wins and 0/3 loses you'll be granted passage into The Lighthouse which is a social area for all the badasses to hang out at. In this area there will be a chest that you can get for having a flawless victory. In the chest you'll have a chance to get exotics, 9 Passage Coins, 4+ Motes of Light, Etheric Light, and the Adept Osiris weapons which have elements on them. Try your hardest to get 9/9 wins before you lose your first game. Buy all three boons from the disciple to boost your way there. With all three boons you'll start with one win, then on your first victory you'll have a total of 3 wins. Congratulations, you need 6 more wins to go and with the last boon you'll be able to lose only one game and a red light won't appear on your Trials Passage. Advice for playing at Mercury during the Trials of Osiris are a bit obvious. Let's face it, the sun is ridiculous. Use it to your advantage. If your team is spawned near the sun then stay there. Let the team come to you and let the sun blind their eyes. If you're not spawned by the sun then exercise your radar. If they move away from the sun then attack them. STAY TOGETHER when attacking and when you eliminate a member of the enemy team, stay near it so they don't have a chance to revive them.
