Destiny Physical copy

Does anyone know when i can download my Destiny update. The reason i ask is that iv'e seen a number of people say they are downloading updates to their ps4's, i thought i might be able to do the same even though i have a disk. considering the servers are not yet live ,how can some of you be downloading updates. Thanks in advance.
