Hallowed Knights

Did anyone else run into the wonderfulness called the Hallowed Knight while free roaming in Old Russia? I know that I encountered and was destroyed by them both by myself and with a fireteam. We went back several times to these unknown leveled, blue beasts only to find and achieve the same result: little to no damage and all three of us going down in one hit. Has anyone else had this experience or come close to figuring out how to take them down?
