GOG is best known for its library of classic games — it was originally called Good Old Games — but last year the company announced a new venture that would put it in direct competition with PC gaming behemoth Steam. Called GOG Galaxy, the service is an online gaming platform that includes Steam-like community features and tools like auto-updates to keep your games up to date without any hassle. But the key selling point is that Galaxy includes these features while still ensuring every game can be played offline with no DRM. It was originally supposed to launch last year, but today the platform is finally available in open beta so you can try it out.
I like this. I like this a lot.

But will it blend?
-
I've found a few games on there for free for a few of my autistic patients. Thought it had the similarity of Steam. Can't be Counterstrike, though.

GOG is going to be the next big thing in PC gaming.

Steam is a PoS anyways
3edgy5U?
Oh fuck yes. It's good to finally have some competition on the block.
Honestly, I like GoG and CDProjekt. They've given me a surprising amount of free shit. Plus, it was really admirable how well CDProjekt handled The Witcher 2's absurd piracy rates.
-
But does it have Fallout and Fallout 2?
-
Will I be able to integrate my Steam games with it though? I have too many games on Steam to just leave them there..
-
Is it free?
-
>no current games. >easily pirated or stolen >no steam sales I have a feeling this will die off quickly.
-
It's cdprojekt so yea
-
Not really though. It's still just older games. If it were to compete it'd have to offer the latest stuff too.

Edited by Atticus: 5/5/2015 7:51:10 PMIf avaiable I'll prefer to buy any game from GoG instead from Steam. The problem is that there are very few avaiable when compared to Steam.

Ooooooh, I'll have to try this!
