Edited by VIC: 11/10/2014 6:47:38 AMTokyo Police Club is another one of my favorites. Saw them last April. This is my favorite song off of their newest album. Oddly enough, I found out about this band because one of their songs was the credits music for some movie I stumbled upon on netflix. Glad I did. I go to live shows almost every weekend. They're usually for local bands and I generally don't look up who's playing where, I just show up for drinks and cheap access to okayish music but every once in awhile, I'll go to a more expensive venue to catch shows for more known bands like the ones I've posted.

Yuck is a more mellow but still lo-fi noise rock band, similar to DFA1979 (but, like I said, more mellow). Again, another one of my favorites (notice the trend yet, yeesh). Saw them last winter with a pretty lady I was smitten with at the time.

Cold War Kids is another one of my top five bands right now. I saw them at Index Fest 2012. They came out with a new album this year; the single is All of This Could Be Yours.

Edited by VIC: 11/10/2014 6:37:48 AMPortugal. The Man is easily my favorite band right now. I've seen them live twice. Once at Index Fest in 2012 in Dallas and once last Fall the day before the PS4 came out. Their show last year was a free secret show (they threw up the ad for it on FB at the last minute) that was first come, first served. That show was also hands down the best live show I've ever been to. They opened up with Purple, Yellow, Red, and Blue and just kept playing from there. No stopping, transitioning from one song to another from various albums. They ended their set by transitioning from a cover of Pink Floyd's Another Brick in The Wall back to Purple, Yellow, Red and Blue but more upbeat with a more intense guitar solo. They encored with their own take of a Pantera song (don't remember which one) because they said they needed to play a song by a Dallas band while they were in Dallas and somehow masterfully transitioned into The Beatles' Hey Jude.

Lets discuss bands... What do ya'll think of Breaking benjamin coming back?

Edited by VIC: 11/10/2014 6:40:37 AMI saw Death From Above 1979 last night. They've been one of my top five favorite bands in the last couple years, even though they were on a long hiatus. They got back together and made a new album that came out the same day Destiny did this year. My favorite song by them is You're a Woman, I'm a Machine.
