It was an act of desperation. The power-fantasy was drained from the game under Blackburn’s watch…and now they are scrambling trying to add it back….

I wish they’d be desperate enough to fix the sorry state of dungeon rewards. If the expectation was meant to be “you could do this encounter like 300+ times without seeing the weapon roll you want” then they’ve shown themselves to be trolls. Completely unreasonable and ridiculous. Ok. You win Bungie. I won’t buy dungeons anymore.

I don’t know why this bothers people so much still. It’s been over 3 years - time to move on. Out of the 150+ sunset weapons, only about 10-15 would have even “average” perk sets compared to today. And Bungie has said that they’re reissuing most of them over the next year. - my hope is that some of the destinations return too, but I’m not going to get my hopes up for Io and Mars. They made a decision to keep the game balanced and reduce the file size for last-gen consoles. Now, I think it’s been long enough that Bungie is allowed to change their mind. Annoying, but the rage I’ve seen around here about it isn’t warranted

Ritual Weapons are powerful enough that they can completely bypass having an origin trait. Most origin traits are trash anyway.

Of the stuff that was sunset said as a player who started at season of arrivals so I tasted the old system Armor - always felt the worst and was the first sunsetting they got rid of Guns - I guess I had less than some but over 300 guns have been put into the game since beyond light came out, there is no lack of variety and most frames feel the same as their old counterparts; and very few of us are cammy cakes or esoterrik where a 1-2 point stat difference will make or break our game play. Those griping about guns deleted 4 years ago feel like trolls to me. Ok you deleted the 2019 meta 120. There are many effective 120s available half of them craftable to be whatever you want them to be Mods like warmind cells and wells; I do understand the balance and design problem they created. How do you make a raid or a strike when you can nuke everything up to a gm champion with a single war mind cell, the system now even though far less flavorful is more balanced, easier to understand and less game breaking Planets/old campaign Look they got screwed by the delayed release and slow adoption of new gen consoles like everyone else. D3 was supposed to be beyond light which queen and lightfall/final shape. And it would have been fine; the problem is 60+ percent of psn sales are still on ps4 and those players are being insanely coddled/not forced to upgrade. No previous cycle still had software developers making their newest content have to work on 11 year old rigs; the insane loading times in most lobbies thank your old gen neighbor. It hit cyberpunk outriders and a lot of people hard; we can throw a lot of shade at rockstar for slow walking gta 6 but because of the old gen coddling there’s no reason for them to make a new high end experience The recent reintro of whisper of the worm swore me off any bs nostalgia griping. I played it as a new light with friends in season of arrivals and was awed. In todays sand box I nuke my way through it on master in 12 mins

They've been so back on forth so many times I find it funny that people actually have faith in what they say. I kept my stuff because I had a feeling.

To me, this completely confirms that destiny 2’s life cycle will be officially over after the third episode this year. All of this goes against their “over delivery is bad”idea. They want to leave the game in the best state possible similar to the last year of D1. At least I think it is. So the way I see this going, D2 ends, marathon launches (people hate it) 1 year later destiny 3 will be announced (and people hate it but after three years people still hate it 😂). Not gonna pat myself on the back too hard but I guessed about prismatic needing to be in the game and got that right, so I have a good feeling here. Don’t get me wrong, I’m excited to use my old black armory loadout, revoker, 21 delirium, bygones, all those guns, but this definitely tells me not to buy final shape until a sale since nothing is coming after this year. But I think I’ll be done with Bungie games after FS for sure, and stick with single player games.

Of course they're desperate. Sony already confirmed Bungie had bad management, and the game was in the -blam!- for sure. Whoever was in charge of the whole "run off all the casual players" era learned a hard lesson in game design. It's interesting to see them claw back though. As one X user put it "I love a cornered Bungie", or whatever it was they said to that effect.

I can almost guarantee you, they intentionally held back on giving us more Vault Space to force us to delete legacy gear we were convinced would never be relevant again.
