They weren't stopped by humans, they were stopped by Shepard. Saying that the humans stopped the Reapers is like saying humans stopped the Covenant or Flood

Yeah, one individual who probably knew the most about the Reapers than any other human. If it wasn't for Shepard, honestly, humanity most-likely would've been railed. Along with the Turians, Quarians, Krogan's, etc.
