Even tho they died out there technology and creations still live on in the halo universe and that technology has the power to destroy the whole universe

Forerunners got jealous of humans and killed all the precursors. The few surviving precursors turned into powder and fled the galaxy but failed. Humans found the powder and it mutated into the flood. #rekt son.
