Gamers are getting more fussy all the time man. We're spoiled as hell these days to get games that see continued support and patches and DLC and stuff. My old NES, Sega Genesis, and N64 games came as-is and you got what you got, bugs and all. There was no DLC adding new dungeons to Zelda games but you could still play them over and over again. Hell, I still play some of those games today. So many games are disposable these days despite being incredible games. It's all "what have you done for me lately?"

Compare this game to the Original Xbox Halo1. Even with the DLC and most likely the HoW DLC, the original Halo had MUCH more content. That is the problem. We're not spoiled by DLC we're being taken advantage of! We used to get 40-50hours of story in a game before "DLC" became popular. Now for the same price we get 10-12 hours, with 3 or so more by spending $20 for DLC. Using your own example: Zelda: you got more story and play time in an 8bit NES cartridge! Wont even touch the content and story of the Final Fantasy series...
