What country are you from?
You've just described at least a portion of literally EVERY country's history, on the entire planet for as long as there have been countries. Hell, even as long as there have been large enough groups of nomads to be considered a certain and definable people group.

I don't think that is relevant. Obama is nowhere near communist or marxist. Some of his fiscal policies might be more socialist than America has seen but he's still keen on capitalism. Aside from that I'd say the marriage and marijuana reform are quite characteristic of America's capricious portfolio, albeit long overdue.

Capricious? Definitely. America is unfortunately extremely susceptible to mob mentalities. Wherever the crowd goes, everyone wants to go. Whatever the media says, the majority take at face value. Hell, statistics say that Americans always vote for the more handsome president. Ugh.
