Saying something is better for you than alcohol or cigarettes should not be your safety standard. Marijuana is a narcotic, and slows down your reaction time. In driving, that is incredibly dangerous. And anything that messes with your brain is dangerous in some degree. The only argument for weed is the same for cigarettes and alcohol; if it were banned, the black market trade would just increase.
