  • I know, right? Get this: people also go to these big buildings and watch recordings of people pretending to be other people. You can just pretend to be other people at home! They do the same thing at big venues where people play musical instruments. You can play instruments at home, HELLOOOOOO

So people that work their ass off making a career in acting or being a professional musician, is the same as people that sit in front of camera and ask for donations?

  • That's a nice straw man fallacy you've set up there. I'll provide a serious response when you provide a serious objection.

  • There is a massive difference between streaming a video game and producing music and films

  • And what is that difference?

  • A video game streamer does one thing: records themselves playing a video game. Minimal work goes into putting that content out there, and even less to stream it. However, with films hundreds of people work to produce it (directors, actors, writers, sound technicians, cameramen, casters, etc.) as seen in that 5 minute wall of crawling text at the end of every movie. Not to mention music where(talking about legitimate musicians as opposed to singers) a person or group takes an extended period of time to write, practice, and record a single song, coupled with technicians and producers who fine tune the song and designers and marketers who publicize and design the music's artwork... Yeah, there's a MASSIVE difference between them. One allows you to watch a video game, another "transports you to another world."

  • So, if a streamer hired a whole bunch of people to work for him, then he would be the same as those other entertainers? Is the streamer somehow "less than" for doing almost all of the work himself? (btw you clearly have no concept of what it really takes to set up and maintain a successful stream)

  • What I'm saying is that it's a much more in depth process that takes more time to do with more intricate components. And you also have a weird concept of movies of you believe it's the that have people working FOR them
