Well with my dad as a good example, it is a gateway drug no matter how you see it. I personally have seen, and been around, people that started smoking weed and then going to the more hardcore shit.

your dad would be a scumbag even if weed wasn't there.

Just because you want to ruin your life doesn't mean others should too, scumbag. How can you afford a phone or computer? Are you using a computer at a local library?

He has been clean for 24 years in a month. Probably worked harder than you would ever in your lifetime. Grow up kid...

The plural of anecdotal is not data.

Edited by Catty_Wampus22: 8/26/2015 10:42:00 AMThen your dad just has that addictive personality. I started smoking weed at 19 (waited for my brain to stop forming) I'm 39 now.....I've never done anything else other than mushrooms and the last time was severalbyears ago. I don't smoke cigarettes, I rarely drink.....I have a good job (actually just got a promotion tuesday) am in shape..... Saying it's a gateway drug is bs. If anything the way they lie about weed causes the 'gateway' problem. Someone tries it and thinks 'this isn't anything like they said! I wonder if they lied about other drugs, too?'

if people use hardcore drugs they are looking for an escape. their real life sucks ass so they want an out. I FIRMLY believe that how an individual is raised through adolescence will have a huge impact on things such as future illegal drug usage.

I know plenty of people that smoked weed a lot and have never done anything harder.

I grow my own. I'm not sure how that's going to lead to me doing other drugs unless the plant spontaneously sprouts needles or something.
