Primarily because of the damage it causes to adolescent brains is often downplayed by the pot community leading people into a false sense of security, and the medicinal benefits are often erroneousy applied to unresearched pathologies who regularly confuse weed smoking (which is mostly done for THC content) with the current oil and orally consumed cannabinoids shown to have more pronounced medicinal benefits.
However Alcohol is legal, and it is just as dangerous and damaging. And i think if supplied in a taxed and controlled manner like Alcohol it could be a safe addition to society.
I think that like Alcohol it should be illeigal to drive under the influence of it, and now we have adequate tests to prove that the person tests positive to Cannabis use we could argue for its legalisation as that safety risk is eliminated.
