Ok first here;
This is why weed is illegal;

That should cover every angle
It has nothing to do with smoking it
It was first made illegal in 1930s-1940s due to the fact a few monopolies and the entire oil industry feared the plant's natural and freely available and easily obtainable resource uses;
Would threaten their products use and necessities and that marijuana would then replace their products uses in our industrialized world.
So they ran a smear campaign of propaganda and lobbied congress to get the plant criminalized and prohibited.
This worked so well that almost 85+ years later
people still believe it is illegal due to it being an addictive controlled intoxicant
Yes it gets you high;
Guess what;
unlike the reporting of the federal commission on the war on drugs; it is NOT ADDICTIVE and has nearly no negative side effects when consumed properly; you CANT even overdose on it!
Also the plant has a multitude of functional industrial USES
original post says USE not Smoking
Stop being sheep believing in lies told for 80 DAMN YEARS by the monopolies, the oil industry, the commission started by president Ronald Regan of The War Against Drugs! ITS ALL PROPAGANDA AND SPINN
FURTHERMORE;
nearly every single Rx prescription drug is addictive and has severely bad side effects and you can overdose and die from most of them
So please;
Stop thinking weed means 420 and Smoke or cancer medicine only
Fact is
from your clothes to paper to the fuel AND lubricants in any piece of heavy machinery---> all of those can be made from or run on by a cheap as F*ck plant ANY ONE could grow in their back yard!
(Also the declaration of independence and US constitution are written on HEMP PAPER!)
Edit;
People who smoke weed and turn into lazy stupid dumb scumbags do that because of their lifestyle and life choices; its not due to weed; they would end up listening to junk music and being lazy scrubs even with out the weed;
Stop blaming weed for that pls

That's interesting. Have you looked up the kind of harm caffeine does? Or the facts on caffeine withdrawal? It is easily several times more harmful to your body, hands down. I think it's perfectly fine that you're against putting certain substances into your body, but don't think for one second that your prejudice gives you the right to tell others what they can put in theirs. You agreed that alcohol is more harmful. Alcohol is legal. End of discussion.
-
Edited by The Arxfiend: 10/17/2015 9:02:22 PMYes, but that doesn't mean anything really as far as alcohol legalization doesn't effect pot legalization. But caffeine is a stimulate. And purely so. And there is withdrawal effects on everything. And a cup of coffee has no more negative effects than weed.p
-
No, there isn't a withdrawal effect from everything. Caffeine is clinically proven to be addictive. It raises your risk of heart attack and stroke. It increases your odds of getting ulcers. It dehydrates you. It can contribute to kidney stones. It affects the absorption rates of countless medications. It depresses cognition, as soon as the initial bump wears off. It causes drug dependence. It causes insomnia and irritability. It is classified as a psychoactive substance. 10 grams in a day is enough to kill any healthy adult. 10 grams of cannabis will just leave you derpy, for a few hours.

Edited by BKU Mako: 10/17/2015 10:00:14 PMI know where you got that misinformation, and your source is NOTORIOUS for hyping propaganda. Many of those effects are completely false, and those that aren't only hold grains of truth. Any point you may have had is now moot. You've lost my respect by quoting government propaganda from the Reagan administration. The American Medical Association, the National Cancer Institute, the Mayo Clinic, the Journal of Neural Medicine, and many, many more doctors, scientists, pharmacologists and more would care to refute those claims, and recently, have. If you're just going to blindly follow age-old propaganda with no credible backing, then... Bye, Felicia.
-
Would you like some more sources then?
http://www.thecannabist.co/2015/02/02/marijuana-research-colorado-health-effects-asthma-cancer-stoned-driving/28946/ http://www.webmd.com/mental-health/addiction/marijuana-use-and-its-effects?page=2 http://www.drugfreeworld.org/drugfacts/marijuana/short-and-long-term-effects.html http://alcoholism.about.com/od/pot/a/effects.-Lya.htm http://www.livescience.com/24558-marijuana-effects.html
just for a few. All the points I listed are facts.
-
http://norml.org/aboutmarijuana/health-organizations-endorsements Click the drop-downs at the bottom for a rundown of institutions that would be perfectly happy to disagree with you.
-
These institutions have proven that it has medical usage, none have disproven anything I listed except the lung cancer, which has evidence going both ways.
-
The supposed evidence for lung cancer is inaccurate. At best, it was a flawed test with an inherent bias. The same can be said of the rest. I would link articles, but you don't seem interested in hearing any side of it but your own. I used to be on that side, too. Now, knowing what I know, I feel like a sheep for having been led so blindly down that path. You can decide whatever you want to; it's no skin off my nose. A little digging would clear up those misconceptions for you, though. I'll leave that to you, since I've wasted enough time on this. Have a good one.
-
Actually, the facts I stated are proven. They have taken measurements, and asked former users. I do not deny it has medical usage and should be used in that way, but to say that it is harmless is false in every sense. and little studies focus on long term effects or recreational use, and those that do find what I stated under long-term. I know the path I am taking, and I know plenty of people will try to shut it down. But my path has enough evidence to support it. No one has proven any guaranteed point I listed as wrong to this date. Studies that have were not able to be replicated. Studies that prove the listed condition, except lung cancer, have been replicated quite a few times.
-
Wow, you're just a little ball of propaganda, aren't you? If you'd done REAL research, you would know what went into those tests, how biased they were, that their chief scientists were paid off and often threatened, and that the DOJ and DEA have mandates to do everything within their power to keep all illegal substances illegal, no matter the cost. Quit following blindly like a sheeple for ONE HOUR and develop a real opinion, not one you regurgitated from D.A.R.E.
-
I actually have. Hallucinations have been reported. Heart rates do increase. Senses are disrupted. Memory is negatively impacted.
-
Edited by BKU Mako: 10/17/2015 11:31:07 PMHeart rate increases because blood pressure drops. That's not always a bad thing. As far as memory loss goes, you're 100% wrong. It can fight Alzheimer's. It causes new neurons to generate, and new connections in the brain to form. As far as hallucinations go, cannabis hallucinations are mild, the rare times they do occur. Benadryl causes MUCH more vivid hallucinations. If you're open to it, hallucinations can actually be quite insightful and meaningful. Heard of something called a vision quest? Really, this just comes down to a fundamental difference of opinion about what is good or bad, right or wrong. You're not making any headway here. Apparently, neither am I. What do you say we call it a day? Regardless of your answer, I'm calling it. Peace.
-
Alright. Even though it actually makes it harder to remember, not total loss. G ' day.
-
No, they aren't. They're propaganda being forced down the throats of those too lazy to take a look at the research for themselves.
-
You do know that they can be fined a great amount for posting falsified information?
-
Weed makes you depressed because weed causes a dopamine rush and your brain will use it as its primary source of dopamine and stop making it on its own so you become depressed whenever you aren't smoking weed and weed will have a weaker affect every time you smoke it making you more and more depressed. Weed can also make you retarded cuz it kills brain cells. You can literally smoke your yourself retarded. It has happened before.
dopamine is the chemical in your brain that makes you feel happy.
Gr8 b8, m8. For medical FACTS, feel free to visit www.norml.org.
-
Its not bait
-
The AMA, the Journal of Neural Medicine, and several other reputable sources would care to disagree with you, as well as with our oh-so-honest-and-illustrious government who wouldn't dare lie to their citizens.
-
Ive had two friends become mentally ill to some degree because of weed, it can also cause birth problems. My stupid friend Michelle who smokes weed got pregnant and her baby is -blam!-ed up mentally and physically cuz she smoked during pregnancy
-
No; Marijuana corrects most neural disorders as well as a few psychological ones; If your friends went crazy or had pregnancy complications; Its cuz they have something hereditary or suffered a break of some kind (could have happened while they were high but not as a result of being high) and with the pregnancy thats from something else i guarantee it.
-
........i will say that that makes sense. But its not true, the pregnancy thing might be true but weed does make you sad, trust me on that
-
Edited by BKU Mako: 10/17/2015 8:16:26 PMNo, weed does NOT make you feel sad. LACK of weed makes you sad, as over time, you produce slightly less dopamine on your own. As far as her baby goes, cannabis WILL NOT HARM A FETUS. It is one of THE SAFEST THINGS a pregnant mother-to-be can ingest for morning sickness. Ask your gf's OB/GYN, sometime. www.norml.org If anything, her baby has problems because she was drinking before she knew she was pregnant, or smoking cigarettes, or just got the short end of the stick. There is, literally, ZERO chance that cannabis is to blame.
-
But if you never smoke weed than you never get depressed from the lack of dopamine, the ultimate cause is smoking weed the proximate is lack of weed
