I agree with OP. More chances to farm for more fractional chances at an exotic is not a fulfilling reward. Considering that most people report 1 exotic drop in every ten coins used, getting ANY exotic instead of ten coins is a better reward as you don't have to waste the time/effort using them to get what you should have gotten to begin with.
