Anyway, whether you meant overshields should only reduce Damage to some weapons, or not, the point still stands. It shouldn't be that way, because specials are commonly used in PvP because of the drop rate and perks, therefore it still makes the reduced damage irrelevant, because you can still Rez snipe. It's not that the weapon is suppose to [b]break a mechanic put in place to counter Rez camping[/b], it's just that the weapon itself has too much impact, just like shotguns have too much impact and range. It's a version of a weapon that shouldn't exists, and can be easily abused. If your team has weapons of light, you can always one shot body shot with these ridiculous high impact snipers. It's not just Rez sniping. It has many other problems. Also, comparing one game to another is common, especially if they are of the same [b]genre[/b] and have the same gun types with similar game mode and similar mechanics. Comparing them is a form of evidence, and just because you don't like it, doesn't mean it's evidence or worth considering, while you sit here and pull out reason there should be no sway out of your ass.
