Destiny 2 will receive an update tomorrow. Players will be required to log in to Destiny 2 again after installing the update. Please stay tuned to @BungieHelp for updates.
-The ridiculous impact can one shot revived enemies, completely ruining the point of over shields on revives
There are only a handful of Snipers capable of doing this, Bungie just made the mistake of giving one to everybody right out of the gate.
In any case, so what? A headshot should be a kill regardless. If you can't count on a Sniper to consistently score kills on a headshot, then why bother using one in the first place?
-Very High Target Acquisition
Aim Assist is the word you were looking for. This generally varies between archetypes, and in many cases is more trouble than beneficial. But I can understand what you're saying. Unfortunately given the laggy state of Bungie's servers, without any kind of assistance, it's unlikely that anyone would be able to hit anything at all.
-Little to No Recoil
Again, this varies, and there are many perks that improve Stability in order to control Recoil. Also, guardians are kind of like Super-Soldiers. We're infused with magical light that allows us to perform incredible feats of athleticism and magic. Our armor is intertwined with our own neurons and purpose-built for maximum combat effectiveness. Enjoy the fantasy.
-No Sway
Refer to the above point. It should also be noted that during the Golden Age and beyond, it's likely that Weapon manufacturers were able to develop lightweight weapon frames, recoil-compensating barrels, gyroscopic stabilizers, and number of other advancements in weapon handling.
-No bullet drop, or velocity limitations
Outside of Earth, those variables would change drastically. On the moon, for example, Gravity is a fraction of what it is on earth, and there's little to no atmosphere to speak of. Referring back to the previous point, it wouldn't be too far fetched to think Manufacturers could have also developed scopes that automatically adjust based on inputs by lasers and sensors that detect environmental factors such as gravity, atmosphere, windspeed, and the Coriolis effect.
-High rates of fire (Similar to scout rifles)
Actual .50 Cal Rate of Fire Skip to 1:30 for the Demo. Also, check out the way the barrel compensates for recoil and the final grouping of his shots. Now multiply that by hundreds of years of technological advancement.
-Head shot hit boxes are big
About the size of the player's head, from my experience. lol
-The Number of Semi high ROF snipers added make NLB and make any bolt action snipers completely useless and irrelevant
NLB is the only bolt-action Sniper in the game, and it's kind of been irrelevant since its inception. It fills a niche for a very specific type of player, but don't try to compare it to Special weapons.
-Felwinter's Lie
The most offensive sniper of all. I'll be damned if this thing ever makes a comeback. ;]
-Can outgun regular CQC weapons because of all listed above
Sure, they CAN. But it's highly unlikely. If you're being actively shot at (Which by the way, in your video, you weren't) the odds of you being able to land a headshot while flinching from the rounds hitting you is very low, and the high zoom of the scope makes sighting in your target difficult in close-ranges.
As a part-time PvP player with a combined total of 2,808 Sniper Rifle kills, Sniper Rifles perform exactly as they were intended.
