Actually it does - indirectly.
The same piece of armor in crucible having 260 light w/ 50 stat 1 and 30 stat 2, when infused up to 310 may increase to 65 stat1 and 40 stat 2.
I also wouldn't make assumptions about skill. My children have put more than a few people in their place (equipping the lowest gear they had and still winning in PvP).

Yes and I've had multiple we ran out of medals using 170 gear because IT DOESNT MATTER

Interesting. So A - you're saying light equals skill Then B - light doesn't equal skill. You're right, elitism is a problem. I just don't think you recognize who the elitist is.
