bc the connection or bc they are facing opponents of similar skill? the worst lag I saw was during HoW. even had a match where all 12 players were red barring compared to those days, there practically is no lag

You're getting lucky then, cuz some of these matches are atrocious when it comes to connection. When it isn't lagging however I do pretty well.
